Mattel recently launched a new transgender Barbie doll to honor trans celebrity Laverne Cox on the occasion of Pride month. But reading the fine print on the box reveals the doll is manufactured in Indonesia, where gay and transgender people still experience widespread discrimination and same-sex marriage is illegal.

There are no plans for a monkeypox lockdown
A common fear shared online is that restrictions on movement are being planned. One account told followers to get ready for “monkeypox lockdowns” and “monkeypox tyranny”.
A Labour Party Member of Parliament (MP) has said that Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is wrong on transgenderism, declaring that some women are “born with penises”.

Five police officers have been branded a ‘disgrace’ for performing a TikTok-style dance in a north London suburb with a high crime rate.
Footage from a ‘youth engagement’ community event in Edmonton last Saturday shows the four PCs and a sergeant busting moves to Run-DMC’s 1983 hip hop song It’s Like That.
Their routine, which lasted about a minute on stage and included synchronised moves, was met with some applause – but not all were impressed.
They should show up at all crime scenes do this dance and then just leave.

I deferred my holiday because of lockdown but now the owner refuses to accept vaccinated guests – and has kept my money
Before the pandemic, I booked a £2,000 retreat, hanging out with horses on a Canadian ranch, for May 2020. When lockdowns began, the ranch informed customers that no refunds would be given but that bookings would be honoured when they were ready and able to travel again. I knew they were a small family business so I accepted that. Now I’ve received a newsletter stating that vaccinated customers are not welcome as the vaccine could transfer to the animals. The ranch owner declares that we will not receive refunds because the business is “nearly bankrupt” and suggests we sell our holiday to someone unvaccinated.

Montreal sauna suspected origin of Canada’s monkeypox outbreak: doctors
Monkeypox cases in Canada are suspected to have originated from a local sauna in Montreal, doctors have told Global News.
The country’s first two cases were reported by Quebec public health officials on May 19.
Dr. Robert Pilarski, a general physician in Montreal, who treated one of those patients last week, said the individual likely got the virus from a sauna he recently visited.

Harrowing videos captured the heartbreaking wails of parents begging cops to “Go protect the kids!” during the Texas school shooting — with some suggesting they “just rush” the school themselves.
The livestreamed footage captured the unbearable anguish as parents rushed to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, where deranged gunman Salvador Ramos, 18, was inside for up to an hour as he killed 19 kids and two teachers.
‘The police were doing nothing’: Uvalde police handcuffed and pepper-sprayed parents, who urged them to storm the school, including the dad of a murdered girl and a mom-of-two who got free, jumped a fence and rescued her kids herself
Uvalde police are facing new criticism over first-hand accounts and videos showing them handcuffing and restraining frantic parents, who were urging them to storm the Robb Elementary school building amid the massacre.
‘The police were doing nothing,’ Angeli Rose Gomez told the Wall Street Journal. ‘They were just standing outside the fence. They weren’t going in there or running anywhere.’
Gomez has two children in second and third grade and she reportedly drove 40 miles to the school after hearing of the attack.
A video recorded outside Robb Elementary School on Tuesday reveals new details about the timeline of the Uvalde shooting and shows parents who shouted the police response was inadequate and sluggish.

Texas cops reveal there was NO armed guard on campus when gunman walked through unlocked door with his AR-15: First officers on scene retreated when he opened fire on them then waited an HOUR for SWAT
Texas cops have revealed that there was no armed guard on campus when the gunman arrived on Tuesday which allowed him to walk ‘unobstructed’ through an unlocked door and into the building where he slaughtered 21 people.
At a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Victor Escalon, the Regional Director for the Department of Public Safety South Texas, said Salvador Ramos walked through an unlocked door ‘unobstructed’ and that there was no guard ‘readily available’.
It contradicts earlier reports that he fired at a school resource officer.

I agree with it.

In an unnamed basement bar in central Kyiv, Ukrainian anarchists have created a headquarters where they gather supplies to send to their peers on the frontlines and welcome anarchists from abroad who have come to fight.
It is unusual to see anarchists supporting state structures, but they say taking action against Russia is necessary for their survival. “We are fighting to protect the more or less free society that exists in Ukraine,” said an activist, Dmytro. “Without which there would be no space for activism or underground movements.”
