UK journalists could be jailed for printing info not ‘in the public interest,’ under new amendments

The current Official Secrets Act, last updated in 1989, makes provisions for whistle-blowers who leak sensitive information that they consider to be in the public interest, distinguishing their actions from espionage. Now, a government consultation from the Home Office has suggested a reform to the legislation that will do away with the distinction, essentially treating such journalists and their sources as spies. The Home Office has also proposed a dramatic increase in prison time for breaking the law, going from two years to a possible fourteen years behind bars.

Yesterday’s bloody events in Hyde Park should horrify everyone who believes in liberty and reason.

When are we going to talk about Hatun Tash? She’s the ex-Muslim and Christian evangelist who was allegedly slashed with a knife in broad daylight in Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park yesterday. And almost as shocking as the incident itself – as this horrific assault on a woman who was merely expressing her beliefs – has been the silence about it. There has been a trickle of press interest, but no big media splashes, no hashtag solidarity, no politicians expressing concerns that Britain seems to have become a country in which you criticise Islam at your peril. What is going on here?

A woman wearing a Charlie Hebdo T-shirt has been stabbed at Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park as police hunt for a man dressed in black who fled the scene.

The 39-year-old victim suffered a stab wound and was seen with blood pouring down the side of her face after the stabbing at the site where people gather for public speeches and debates on Sunday.

The man who carried out the attack quickly sprinted away as he was chased by members of the public as well as police.

The findings of an Ofsted inspection of the Institute of Islamic Education private boarding school have caused outrage in the UK – notably, the discovery of a book in the school’s library that promotes the killing of homosexuals.

On Tuesday, Ofsted, the UK’s standards authority for education, published a report about the religious boarding school in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

A dinghy of 40 migrants landed on a beach in Kent at 11am this morning in front of sunbathers before they fled.

Footage shows shocked beachgoers watching while the migrants sprint off in different directions after their vessel managed to arrive at Oldstairs Bay in Kingsdown without being intercepted by Border Force.

A witness told the Sun that within five minutes a police car had arrived but all of the migrants had already disappeared.

China accused of cyber-attack on Microsoft Exchange servers

The UK and EU have accused China of carrying out a major cyber attack earlier this year.

The attack targeted Microsoft Exchange servers, affecting over a quarter of a million servers around the world.

The EU was the first to put out a statement saying the attack came from “the territory of China”, while the UK said Chinese state-backed actors were responsible. The US is expected to follow suit.

The countries have also said the Chinese Ministry of State Security was responsible for other espionage activity.

On Sunday July 18, the Church of England service will include a ceremony of “symbolic repentance” to mark the 800-year anniversary of the Synod of Oxford. The 1222 Synod set forth discriminatory laws for Jews, such as identifying badges and higher taxes. The gesture is especially significant in that the Church of England was only established in 1534. The Church is therefore apologizing for all Christian medieval anti-Semitism.

It seems the long march through the institutions by our leftist friends has achieved another victory – widespread anti-Semitism of the “acceptable kind.”

I noticed something amiss after the recent Gaza troubles. The “anti-Zionists” are now much more open and public with their views.

If you ever wondered why Islamist anti-Semitism is tolerated you have only to look at the “ordinary people” profiled in this book. They share the identical views.

Anjem Choudary: Radical preacher’s public speaking ban lifted

Conditions banning radical preacher Anjem Choudary from public speaking have been lifted.

Choudary, from Ilford in east London, was jailed for five-and-a-half years in 2016 after being convicted of inviting support for the Islamic State group.

He was released on licence from HMP Belmarsh in 2018, the conditions of which have now come to an end.

It has not been confirmed if police and MI5 will continue to track him or consider him a person of interest.

Rapists who groomed 12-year-old girl they spotted doing paper round and raped her repeatedly during three-year campaign of abuse are jailed

A trio of vile sex offenders who targeted a young girl on her paper rounds before raping her in a playground and her own bedroom have been jailed.

Banaras Hussain, 44, Talish Ahmed, 41, and Mohammed Akram, 44, subjected the child to a horrendous campaign of abuse in Huddersfield between 1995 and 1998.

Leeds Crown Court heard the girl, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was just 12 years old and wearing school uniform when the predators identified her as a target.

Abu Bakr Deghayes is charged with encouraging terrorism by saying ‘Jihad is compulsory’ at evening prayers and making stabbing motions.

The 53-year-old allegedly told the congregation that ‘scholars fought the enemies of Allah’.

 

I bet this never happens at a Canadian mosque. Not that we would know, the authorities don’t monitor them.

Chaudhary ran a propaganda, communications and funding operation for the terrorist organisation from his home in Leicester, central England.

A Glimpse into the Future of Muslim-Majority Britain

Its drabness and decay are depressing in their ordinariness, but behind these old tenement houses — where outside toilets have been clumsily reattached — is a seething rage no one is prepared to talk about. It’s the reason I have spent time there in the past, to try and force this conversation into the open.

And right now, these awkward truths are glaring the country in the face.
