‘The Official Truth’: The End of Free Speech That Will End America

If legacy news corporations fail to report that large majorities of the American public now view their journalistic product as straight-up propaganda, does that make it any less true?

According to a survey by Rasmussen Reports, 59% of likely voters in the United States view the corporate news media as “truly the enemy of the people.” This is a majority view, held regardless of race: “58% of whites, 51% of black voters, and 68% of other minorities” — all agree that the mainstream media has become their “enemy.”

Bombing a Jewish kindergarten isn’t ‘retaliatory’

Only 620 of the rockets launched [by Palestinian Islamic Jihad] made it into Israeli territory” (emphasis added) is the strange way The Washington Post depicted the hailstorm of rockets on Israel from Gaza.  Would The Washington Post portray the bombardment of America by 620 rockets from a genocidal enemy as “only 620 rockets”?  In “Israel kills 2 more militant leaders as Gaza fight rages on” (printed version title May 12, 2023), The Washington Post invents a title that portrays Israel as the aggressor, missing the cause of the fighting, which was the rocket fire from Gaza against Israeli civilians.  The article even admits that “one rocket fell on the roof of a kindergarten in the Eshkol region; another hit an empty playground.”  The Palestinians are wantonly attacking children, yet the Post downplays the rocket attack to incriminate Israel’s response.

Majority Of Americans Know Regime Media’s Favorite Narratives Are Fake News

While the news from Harvard CAPS/Harris’ recent poll that received the most coverage was former President Donald Trump’s lead over President Joe Biden, the poll also demonstrates that a majority of American voters disagree with corporate media narratives. Journalist Glenn Greenwald drew attention to the report and key themes on Twitter over the weekend.

The Pulitzer Prize for Utter Failures in Journalism

The New York Times and the Washington Post were honored for bogus Russiagate reporting. Honorable institutions would return the awards.

The New York Times and the Washington Post are among the obvious losers in the Trump–Russia collusion hoax, as the report by special counsel John H. Durham, released last week, makes clear.

But don’t forget the Pulitzer Prize Board, which has earned a special shame in this mess. It was this organization that in 2018 awarded a joint Pulitzer to the two papers for their coverage of what ended up being an election-year deception. That neither the Times nor the Post has offered to return the undeserved award only discredits them further. That the Pulitzer committee hasn’t demanded their return is similarly damning.

More media madness: fake racism edition

The media LOVES LOVES LOVES to stir up racial hatred. It is their milk and honey, their French wine, their brie and baguette, and their chocolate mousse. Destroying the life of an innocent person, labeling them a racist hatemongering White supremacist is like a Prime Rib dinner with all the fixings, and if you get the person fired it’s time to pop the champagne.

Liberal media circles the wagons around Biden’s corruption

Some people say that democracy dies in darkness.

But it can die in the full light of day too.

Especially if people are prevented from seeing what’s in front of them.

This week two bombshell events happened.

On the Republican side the candidate still most favored by the party’s base to be its nominee for the Presidency lost a civil case against writer E Jean Carroll.

Don Lemon and the demise of the sneering media

Americans are fed up with being insulted by cable news.

It was a tale of two firings last week in the American media. Two famous anchors, with two very different profiles and styles, were unceremoniously ousted by their corporate overlords. Conservative bête noire Tucker Carlson and liberal malcontent Don Lemon were both dropped from their channels, on the very same day.

Americans fault news media for dividing nation: AP-NORC poll

WASHINGTON (AP) — When it comes to the news media and the impact it’s having on democracy and political polarization in the United States, Americans are likelier to say it’s doing more harm than good.

Nearly three-quarters of U.S. adults say the news media is increasing political polarization in this country, and just under half say they have little to no trust in the media’s ability to report the news fairly and accurately, according to a new survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights.

Taibbi: Media Ignoring Developments on Hunter Laptop Letter Shows We‘re Becoming Like USSR Where Media ‘all Lies‘ with ‘No Real News‘

On Friday’s broadcast of Newsmax TV’s “The Record,” journalist Matt Taibbi stated that the lack of mainstream media coverage of the “massive story of national consequence” of former acting CIA Director Michael Morell’s role in the letter claiming that the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian misinformation is an example of how “we’re starting to come to” the “same situation” as in the Soviet Union where “nobody read the newspapers because it was all lies and there was no real news in [them].”

The media is spreading bad trans science

Misleading studies are being taken as gospel

Do people with severe depression have a right to accurate information about antidepressants? I suspect most people would answer “yes”. There is a general understanding that individuals who suffer from medical conditions are in a vulnerable position, making them susceptible to misinformation. There is also increased awareness of the influence that the profit motive can have on how medical research is funded, undertaken and communicated to the public.

Bill Maher, Russell Brand point to Dems to call out condemnation of European parties with ‘far-right’ roots

HBO host Bill Maher called out the media for its “apoplectic” response to the election of what papers called Italy’s “far-right” Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and the comparisons the liberal press made to fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.

Outspoken actor, comedian, and wildly successful podcaster Russell Brand joined Maher on “Club Random” and noted how the term “far-right” has been thrown around in recent years.
