Poland issues ultimatum to Germany over €1.3 trillion in WWII reparations

Poland is ratcheting up the pressure on Germany over reparations for the Second World War, with Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Arkadiusz Mularczyk giving Germany a new ultimatum to pay up or face Poland bringing the matter to a range of international forums, a move that may harm Germany’s international reputation.

“Now, Germany has a choice: Either it sits down with Poland at the negotiating table, or we will raise the issue in all international forums — in the UN, in the Council of Europe and in the European Union,” he said, according to German news agency dpa.

…“If Germany had been treated as it was in many plans formulated not in the Soviet Union but in the West, today they would be a very, very poor and much less numerous country than they are,” he claimed, adding that the defeated German nation was “treated extremely kindly” given the circumstances.

“Let them thank God that is only so. They owe us, they have to pay,” he insisted.

Inside Poland’s far-Right’s Catholic revival

The men are assembled along the left, the women line up along the right, and the very young children follow the proceedings from an anteroom, soundproofed behind a glass screen. The dress code is sombre — mostly black, occasionally grey. The women are obliged to cover their hair, though, judging by the sprinkling of Louis Vuitton and Hermes headscarves, there is no injunction against luxury. Silent and perfectly still, the congregation surrenders to the language of the ancient church: “Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto”.

Poland is militarising as Germany and France falter

Europe increasingly finds itself in a tough spot, one that will make it harder to chart the coming geopolitical turmoil. The pressure on the old continent is building from both outside and within, with global insecurity as well as internal divisions on the rise. Some of these developments are taking place under the radar of public perception, but they will have significant consequences in the years to come.

Taboo Thoughts from Poland

Today’s Poland defies several leftist narratives.

As I settled into my LOT airlines seat, waiting for the plane to take off to Warsaw, I realized that I was feeling cozy. All my life I’ve been really self-conscious about how pale I am. Pale skin is thin skin and thin skin provides no camouflage. Every scar and eye bag, every wrinkle and knotted vein, is neon. “Black don’t crack,” black women boast. The darker the skin, the thicker. Thick skin wrinkles less and hides imperfections. Pale people like me look older than a comparable darker skinned person.

Prime minister of Poland: We warned Germany and the West about Putin. We were ignored

The war in Ukraine has exposed the truth about Russia. Those who refused to see that Putin’s state has imperialist tendencies today have to face the fact that in Russia, the demons of the 19th and 20th centuries were revived: nationalism, colonialism, and totalitarianism. But the war in Ukraine has also exposed the truth about Europe. Many European leaders allowed themselves to be lured by Vladimir Putin and today are in a shock.

Poland, Bulgaria say Russia cutting gas supply over refusal to pay in rubles

The governments of the two European countries said on Tuesday that Russian energy giant Gazprom informed them it was halting gas supplies.

The suspensions would be the first since Russian President Vladimir Putin said last month that “unfriendly” foreign buyers would have to pay the state-owned Gazprom in rubles instead of other currencies.

Biden Administration Wants To Take Border Patrol Agents Off Southern Border And Send Them To Poland To Process Their Border

Joe Biden has allowed over 2 million illegal aliens into our country in 2021 and I’m sure there will be more than that this year. The Biden administration has violated nearly every immigration law we have, and so it comes as no surprise that Joe Biden does not like safe and secure borders. I’m sorry. I meant Biden doesn’t like safe and secure borders for America. Other countries’ borders matter more to our irresponsible nimrod in charge.

Take, for example, a memo that went out to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers who are working on the US/Mexico border that asks CBP agents to volunteer to work temporarily in Poland to help assist Ukraine-Americans, legal US residents, and their immediate families trying to get out of Ukraine due to the Russian invasion.

‘F*** Your Mothers, Racist F***s!‘ – Migrants Attack Polish Border Guards

The Polish government has released more footage of illegal migrants trying to cross the frontier from Belarus, hurling objects and insults at border guards.

Thousands of mostly Middle Eastern and South Asian migrants have been pressing upon the borders of Poland and the neighbouring Baltic States of Lithuania and Latvia — all members of the European Union and NATO — for months, having been allowed into Alexander Lukashenko’s Belarus as tourists with the express purpose of having them head west as migrants to destabilise the EU.

Why If Poland Falls, We All Fall

Its border crisis is much more than a migration problem.

The Left and the Social Democrats in both Europe and America have one thing in common: they know nothing of human nature. You know: Everyone is good. All criminals can be reintegrated. All borders are bad. And every multicultural melting pot is enriching.

But there’s a problem: It’s not true. Not all cultures are equal. Nor is everyone good. Which is why we need locks on our cars and houses, passwords on bank accounts, and border controls around our lands. Even if the contemporary Left believes that the only threat to their brave new world is capitalism and my huge diesel car, the truth is that there are, for example, a lot of guys who wake up every day intent on killing as many Westerners as they can in the name of Allah, in New York, in Madrid, in Paris, or this past Sunday in Liverpool. And unfortunately, they are much more fervent believers in their Islamist madness than most of our leaders in their own moral heritage.

Poland says Belarus ferries migrants back to border after clearing camps

BIELSK PODLASKI, Poland/BRUZGI, Belarus, Nov 19 (Reuters) – Poland accused Belarus on Friday of trucking hundreds of migrants back to the border and pushing them to attempt to cross illegally, only hours after clearing camps at a frontier that has become the focus of an escalating East-West crisis.

The accusation by Poland suggests the crisis has not been resolved by an apparent change of tack by Minsk, which on Thursday had cleared the main camps by the border and allowed the first repatriation flight to Iraq in months.

Belarus has been accused of pushing migrants to the border to try to destabilise the EU, a charge it denies.

Belarus border crisis boils over: Polish cops unleash water cannons, tear gas and flash grenades on migrants as guards are pelted with rocks

Polish border guards have fought off an attack by hundreds of migrants at the frontier with Belarus with water cannon and flash grenades this morning, in the latest escalation of tensions on the EU’s eastern front.

The Warsaw authorities issued orders to douse a group who were throwing stones, smoke bombs and pieces of metal fence at their soldiers despite the near-freezing conditions, MailOnline can reveal.

One police officer was rushed to hospital with a suspected fractured skull after being hit in the face.

Polish Independence Day march goes ahead despite court ban

Polish far-right sympathisers are set to march through Warsaw on Thursday in an annual Independence Day gathering after Poland’s nationalist rulers helped challenge a court ban on the event. The march comes as the country faces an unprecedented wave of migration along its border with Belarus.

Critics say in lending a hand to the march – an event marked by occasional violence with demonstrators waving xenophobic banners – Poland’s ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party is giving overt support to the far-right.
