Military Says Projected Regular Force Personnel Loss Is 9.5 Percent This Year

The military is facing high attrition rates and that number is projected to be 9.5 percent for the Regular Force this fiscal year, according to the Department of National Defence (DND).

The combined rate with the Reserve Force was not available, said DND spokesperson Derek Abma.

The Epoch Times obtained information from a military source that the combined attrition rate of the Regular Force and Primary Reserve so far in 2022 is 13 percent, with a total of 12,067 Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members leaving the organization this year.

Winston Churchill’s use of Huns does not need a warning, say campaigners

The National Archives has been criticised for warning readers about Winston Churchill’s use of the term “Huns” to describe the Germans.

Research by the government’s official archive publisher highlighted the word used by the Second World War leader. It deemed the term Huns “derogatory” and said it “obviously” needs to be seen in historical context.

Education campaigners have described the move as “barmy”, however, and said that adding “trigger warnings” to “common historical terms” was unnecessary.

Over 250 Canadian school personnel accused of sexual offenses: report

A report from the Canadian Centre for Child Protection says 252 current or former school personnel committed or were accused of committing offences of a sexual nature against 548 children over a five-year span.

It says another 38 personnel were criminally charged for child pornography-related offences during the same time frame of 2017 to 2021.

“It is startling and a bit infuriating,” said Noni Classen, director of education at the Winnipeg-based centre.

UK Police chief: Petty disputes being recorded as crime in ‘completely mad way’

Petty disputes are being recorded as crime in a “completely mad way” that is scaring the public, a police chief has said.

Sir David Thompson, chief constable of the West Midlands, told The Times that verbal spats between neighbours were being registered as criminal incidents in official data submitted to the government.

Police-recorded crime in England and Wales hit a new high last week with a total of 6.5 million offences in the 12 months to June 2022, up from the previous all-time high of 6.3 million in the year to March.

Canadian Military Attrition at Highest Rate in 15 Years: Leaked Documents

The Canadian military’s attrition rate has reached its highest level in 15 years amounting to a “workforce crisis,” warned defence chief, Gen. Wayne Eyre, in a leaked briefing note prepared for the Armed Forces Council.

“Although attrition was forecast to be higher than average for two years post-pandemic, we are realizing likely 1000 higher than forecast, the highest in 15 years,” Eyre said in the note, which was obtained by the Ottawa Citizen.

The Department of National Defence told The Epoch Times in an email that the 2021-2022 combined attrition rate for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) regular forces and primary reserve forces was 9.3 percent.

No Boys Allowed? New CyberStart Canada Program Will Cater Only to Girls and Non-Binary Students

… Canadian liberals have decided to follow America’s lead on creating their new cyber initiative that reeks with overtones of overt anti-male discrimination, as Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, which is Toronto Metropolitan University’s National Centre for “training, innovation, and collaboration in cybersecurity,” has recently announced a new program called CyberStart Canada.

The program, which is funded by Canadian taxpayers via Public Safety Canada’s Cyber Security Cooperation Program, will initially provide services and education to 700 girls and non-binary students from Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia in 2022-23 in what is being described as a “gamified environment,” and then throughout Canada the following year.

According to the eligibility requirements listed on the program’s website, “Priority in 2022 will be given to students in Ontario, Alberta or British Columbia who self-identify as girls or non-binary. Students must be over the age of 13 to participate.”

Military recruiting issues may be ‘more serious’ than senior ranks letting on: Hillier

As the Canadian Armed Forces grapples with how to boost recruitment amid growing global dangers, a former chief of the defence staff is warning that the situation might be even worse than the top brass are letting on.
