Canada’s new anti-Islamophobia representative apologizes for comments about Quebecers
OTTAWA – Canada’s new special representative on combating Islamophobia says she is sorry that her words have hurt Quebecers.
Amira Elghawaby apologized in English before a meeting today with Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet.
She’s a liar and she ain’t “Canada’s” anything. Just a cheap bit of vote whoring by Trudeau.
… Following a court ruling that mandated the immediate repatriation of Canadian ISIS terrorists who ended up in the Al Hol displacement camp in horrendous conditions (of course, they would not have found themselves there had they not joined ISIS in the first place!), we are now about to find ourselves dealing with the return of citizens who made a conscious decision to join a heinous jihadist organization that participated in unspeakable acts against many. Their victims include the Yazidis, a “nation” the terrorists saw as apostates and, hence, expendable.
Palestinian Terrorism Praised At Toronto Rally
On January 29, Toronto4Palestine, a self-proclaimed “grassroots movement amplifying oppressed voices through action in the GTA,” held an “emergency rally” at Toronto’s Dundas Square that saw participants praise Palestinian terrorism and call for Israel’s destruction.
The rally was held just two days after a Palestinian terrorist murdered 7 innocent Israelis outside a Jerusalem-area synagogue on Shabbat and International Holocaust Memorial Day.
A group representing more than 2,000 rabbis are affirming their support for keeping Representative Ilhan Omar off the Foreign Affairs Committee as a ‘step’ toward snuffing out antisemitic speech in the U.S.
In a letter to Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York, the rabbis wrote requesting the House ‘follow through’ on Republicans’ pledge to remove the Minnesota Democrat from the committee on which she currently serves.
The communication from the Coalition for Jewish Values comes as some GOP members of the House have expressed they would not back McCarthy’s plans to strip Omar of her panel assignment.
A decade of Stephen Harper as Prime Minister was more “perhaps more hurtful” than 9/11, a federal inclusion advisor suggested in a 2015 newspaper column. Amira Elghawaby, in other commentaries, complained middle-class Canadians never experienced inequity and advocated for Muslim prayer in public schools since “parents of these children pay taxes.”

Over the past week we have seen just how estranged from truth the West’s fashionable anti-Israel set has become. Something extraordinary happened: woke commentators and activists expressed more fury over a massacre that didn’t happen than they did over one that did happen. They made more noise over a massacre that exists mostly in their imaginations than they did over a massacre that existed in the real world, that shattered people’s lives in the most violent, horrifying and bigoted fashion imaginable. This tale of two massacres, of the real and unreal, sheds a harsh and unforgiving light on anti-Israel sentiment today.
The Quebec government is calling on the federal government to withdraw its support of Amira Elghawaby, the new representative to combat Islamophobia, only four days after she was first appointed.
This comes a day after her attendance at the sixth commemoration of the deadly mosque attack in Quebec City, honouring the six men who were killed in 2017 when a gunman opened fire just before 8 p.m. in the Islamic Cultural Centre in the Sainte-Foy neighbourhood.
Since her appointment on Thursday, the journalist and human rights activist has been pressured to clarify her position on Quebec’s secularism law.

The Canadian Prime Minister announced the appointment of activist Amira Elghawaby as Canada’s first-ever special representative of the government for the fight against Islamophobia on Thursday.
Suicide bombing at mosque in Pakistan kills 32, targeted police
PESHAWAR, Pakistan, Jan 30 (Reuters) – A suicide bombing at a crowded mosque in Pakistan’s Peshawar killed at least 32 people on Monday, the latest attack targeting police in this northwestern city where Islamist militants remain active.
Hospital officials said at least 147 people were wounded, with many of them in critical condition.
Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif called the blast a suicide attack. There were at least 260 people in the mosque, police official Sikandar Khan added.

The looming return of alleged ISIS members to Canada has brought trauma, worry and fear to people who were invited to Canada as a safe haven after the terrorist group all but destroyed their ancient community in northern Iraq.
“When I first heard the news, I felt the strength leave my body,” Huda Ilyas Alhamad told CBC News in her Winnipeg apartment. She is one of 1,200 survivors of the Yazidi genocide who were resettled in Canada; she spent years as a slave of ISIS members.
“I had to sit down right away. I was heartbroken and terrified at the same time because on one hand they had promised to protect us and bring us here and give us safety, and on the other hand they’re offering that same entryway for these very people who raped and tortured us on a daily basis.”
Sixty-eight percent of online antisemitism originates in Palestinian or progressive pro-Palestinian circles – according to a new report on the state of antisemitism, by the Diaspora Affairs Ministry, which was exposed by Minister Amichai Chikli during the cabinet meeting on Sunday morning.
Chikli said that “antisemitism is changing the way it manifests and it is increasingly focusing on hatred towards the Jewish state and the denial of its right to exist.”

FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) — A northern Virginia man convicted nearly a decade ago of supporting the Islamic State group as a teenager has now been accused of violating his terms of release by meeting with convicted Taliban supporter John Walker Lindh.
According to court documents, the FBI photographed Ali Shukri Amin meeting withLindh on three different occasions in 2021 for about three hours. The document does not state where the meetings occurred. The meetings violate a condition of Amin’s supervised release, which bars him from meeting with known extremists, prosecutors said.
Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that she was unaware of antisemitic tropes about Jewish people and money.
Mother of Canadian man detained in Syria ‘thrilled’ with Ottawa’s decision to repatriate him
The mother of a Canadian man who has spent years detained in northeast Syria on suspicion of having joined the Islamic State says she is thrilled with a judge’s decision to order the federal government to bring her son to Canada, though when the two will be reunited is still uncertain.
Sally Lane moved to Ottawa from Britain three years ago as she campaigned for the release and return of her son, Jack Letts.
