The French anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office on Tuesday opened its first-ever genocide case against a French citizen, a jihadist it has charged with enslaving and torturing a Yazidi teenager.
Sonia Mejri, 35, is suspected of having “inflicted acute mental suffering,” “deprivation of food and water” and physical violence on a Yazidi woman who had been kidnapped at the age of 16 and raped by Mejri’s husband — a leader within ISIS — in Syria.
Swedish authorities said on Sept. 24 that Iran was responsible for hacking into a messaging service and sending thousands of text messages urging people in the country to seek revenge for the 2023 Quran burnings.
The cyberattack was carried out by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which hacked into a Swedish company that runs a major SMS service and sent “15,000 text messages in Swedish” in response to a series of public burnings of the Islamic central religious text in August 2023, according to officials in Stockholm.
This is extremely curious: “Prosecutors had to prove Alissa was sane….The defense did not have to provide any evidence and did not present any experts to say that Alissa was insane.”

France’s new interior minister has pledged to expel illegal immigrants who have “broken in” to the country amid moves aimed at toughening law and order.
Bruno Retailleau also called for a coalition of willing EU countries to compel the European Commission to tighten its immigration laws.

In 2018, Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi arrived at Toronto’s Pearson Airport. After his application for refugee status was accepted in 2019, he received a work permit. He then became a permanent resident in 2021. Subsequently, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service gave his application a “favourable recommendation”, and Mr. Eldidi was granted Canadian citizenship in May 2024. Just two months later and after a tip from France, he was arrested with his son for allegedly planning a terrorist attack in Toronto. It then came to light that Mr. Eldidi had apparently appeared in 2015 promotional video by the Islamic State hacking the limbs off a prisoner with a sword – an act which likely constitutes a war crime.
This series of events has led to obvious questions: How could Canada not only let Mr. Eldidi into the country, but fail to identify him as a possible security threat during two separate national security screenings? Why did the Canadian authorities also not know of his alleged 2015 atrocities?
They vote Liberal.

It is not right to detonate pagers and walkie talkies in the pockets of Lebanese Shiite terrorists. It goes without saying that the Secretary General did not ask himself why the Iranian ambassador to Beirut, Mojtaba Amani, also had a Hezbollah pager. The UN does not do well on asking itself such questions.

Saleh Al H. stabbed indiscriminately in Stuttgart’s European Championship supporters’ area, injuring three people, some of them seriously. ‘Limit immigration’ was the demand of CDU state leader Manuel Hagel. But the debate about security at the European Football Championships failed to materialise.

Recently, while addressing an inter-religious meeting of young people in Singapore, Pope Francis stated that “every religion is a way to arrive at God.”
Francis, who apparently deviated from his prepared speech and spoke extemporaneously, said that no religion should be given priority and that individuals should instead focus on parity between beliefs.
As the first anniversary of Hamas’s October 7 pogrom in southern Israel approaches, Jewish communities feel mounting dread, imagining the nefarious ways in which our enemies may choose to “commemorate” it.
Earlier this month, a Pakistani man in Canada on a student visa was intercepted near the U.S. border, allegedly en route to New York with a “stated goal of slaughtering, in the name of ISIS, as many Jewish people as possible,” according to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.
This was not a Palestinian, or someone affiliated with Hamas — just some random antisemitic Islamist eagerly answering the call to “globalize the intefadeh” on what jihadists consider a glorious anniversary. How many others are out there who aren’t under RCMP surveillance? It’s rational to wonder.
Faint hope is better than none.
Testifying in late August about a terror plot thwarted in July, Minister of Public Safety Dominic LeBlanc commended the intelligence and law enforcement services for their efforts. “This is the way that the investigative and national security system should work,” LeBlanc said. But in the hearings, he faced questions about the immigration vetting process and how two alleged terrorists, both born abroad, were able to get into Canada, and one receive full Canadian citizenship, given their alleged ISIS connections.
Twenty-two years after the federal government first launched its bid to deport Ottawa’s Mohamed Harkat to his native Algeria as a terrorist, a court will once again convene to consider the case.
A Federal Court hearing in December will review the “minister’s opinion,” written by an unnamed senior official at Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada, that concluded Harkat posed a serious threat to Canada as a member of the al-Qaida network and should be deported despite holding refugee status in this country.
