An asylum seeker who raped a 13-year-old girl in a wood after grooming her on Snapchat has been jailed for nine-and-a-half years.

Abdul Khan, who told police he arrived in the UK in the back of a lorry from Afghanistan in 2015, attacked the teenager a decade later.

A trial last week heard how Khan used the messaging platform Snapchat to groom the teenager by telling her he was a 14-year-old boy – when he was actually 27.

In Greece, Elisabeth-Jane Ross, a Scottish woman who had come to work with migrants, was murdered and had her body stuffed into a suitcase and left in an abandoned building by an Afghan refugee who had his own refugee charity. In Ireland, Jamey Carney, a 43-year-old woman from upstate New York, hooked up with a ‘Palestinian’ refugee she met at an anti-Israel rally and he beat her to death and then fled. In Norway, Maren Sømme, a 30-year-old woman, was killed by an Afghan refugee previously facing deportation for abusing another woman.

Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni and Danish PM Mette Frederiksen have made a joint appeal for a tougher European approach to migration, bringing together two leaders from opposite sides of the political divide.

In “A joint message for Europe”, published on August 10, the conservative Italian premier and centre-left Danish leader said Europe must both curb uncontrolled immigration and defend its Christian cultural heritage. “We do not accept uncontrolled immigration to Europe,” they wrote.

I wrote earlier this month about a June debate the venerable Oxford Union Society (“OUS”) held to determine whether “This House believes the West is right to be suspicious of Islam.” That post revolved around Aisha Khan Aziz, who spoke against the motion, and thought she had scored a point by saying that the only reason Tommy Robinson was allowed to speak was that the OUS’s primarily Third World leadership protected him from the mob. It was telling, to say the least.

Fury has erupted in London over plans to erect a hulking 13-storey “mega mosque”.

The proposals would see the UK Albanian Muslim Community and Cultural Centre on Carlton Vale, which sits in a former pub, expanded dramatically.

Architects have put forward plans to knock down the current building and erect a 13-storey tower featuring three floors of prayer space, a morgue and a function room.

Suicidal sympathy did in Elisabeth-Jane Ross, and there are countless others like her. An X contributor wrote: “They shouldn’t be on jury duty as they always let their cousins off.”

A common complaint in Western countries is that Muslim jurors should not serve because “they always let their cousins off.” The remark is usually treated as a crude accusation of favouritism toward other Muslims or dismissed as “Islamophobia.” In reality it points to a deeper and well-documented difference in legal and moral rules.

Dutch authorities have arrested four teenagers with immigrant backgrounds in connection with an investigation into an alleged terrorist plot, with prosecutors accusing the suspects of preparing a terrorist attack while continuing to insist that no specific target or timing for an attack has yet been identified.

The latest arrest came on Friday evening, July 31st, when heavily armed officers from the police’s Special Intervention Service (DSI) detained an 18-year-old man at his home in Kesteren, Gelderland. Police searched the suspect’s home and seized electronic devices, including phones and laptops, for further examination.
