The Pogrom In Amsterdam

“Globalize the Intifada!” is one of the slogans of pro-Palestinian organizations in the United States. We now see what it means as a brutal pogrom fouls the streets of Amsterdam. Just ponder this description of events in the biggest Dutch city last night:

What we know so far is that [Maccabi Tel Aviv] fans were ambushed, six are reported missing, attackers were armed with clubs and knives, Israelis were thrown into rivers and run over by cars, their passports was stolen and published online, fathers walking with their children were attacked by mobs, women were beaten in the streets, many beaten unconscious, two emergency planes have been dispatched from Ben Gurion airport to evacuate citizens immediately, the local authorities are overwhelmed …

OK so was this started by some ill-considered antics? No I’m not suggesting a pogrom was justified I’m just saying be forewarned before going off half-cocked …

From the Daily Mail …

Israeli football hooligans tear down Palestine flags in Amsterdam as taxi drivers ‘fight back’ in night of chaos ahead of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s visit to Ajax

This is from the Telegraph echoing the Daily Mail’s take on events …

Thank God! Former President Obama will not enjoy a fourth term

Thank God! The more gracious of the two candidates has won.

Presidential character was deemed a very important test of one’s suitability for office.

President Trump was defamed 24/7–none of his real and/or imaginary foibles or character failings were overlooked. Harris was praised 24/7 and none of her foibles ever made it into the mainstream media.

And now, the American voter has spoken. President Trump has won a “landslide” victory.

Pro-Palestinian protest at Westmount synagogue draws MPs’ condemnation

Liberal MPs Marc Miller, Anthony Housefather and Anna Gainey condemned a protest outside a synagogue in Westmount on Tuesday evening as “disgusting.”

“The protest currently underway in front of a Jewish place of worship, Shaar Hashomayim, in Montreal are a disgusting display of vitriol and beyond the pale any form of acceptable protest,” said Miller in a post on X.

Why don’t they ask Justin? He knows what to do I bet!

UN official for Palestinian territories says she was ‘snubbed’ by Canadian government

OTTAWA—A United Nations official visiting Canada to urge the Trudeau government to increase pressure on Israel to end its war in Gaza said she was “snubbed” by the Prime Minister’s Office and Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly.

Francesca Albanese, the UN’s special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, told the Star in Ottawa on Tuesday that an invitation to meet with officials at Global Affairs Canada was abruptly withdrawn a week before she arrived to Ottawa, while a scheduled appearance before the House of Commons’ foreign affairs committee, which is currently conducting an independent study on the fastest way for Canada to recognize a Palestinian state, was also cancelled. She described herself as having been “snubbed” by the Canadian government.

Canada, radical Islam and cities of fear

Why do hate incidents against Jews in Canada vastly outnumber all other minorities?

Toronto, per capita, leads cities in the Western world in antisemitic hate incidents, which also outnumbers all other hate incidents in the city, according to B’nai Brith Canada’s impeccable statistics and confirmed by the Metropolitan Toronto Police. And these hateful incidents continue to spiral to historic highs.

In just one recent example, six students at a North Toronto primary school made the Nazi salute and neither the principal nor the parents were castigated.

No one needs UNRWA, its role can easily be filled by existing agencies

UNRWA was established for the goal of destroying the new-born state of Israel and eliminating its Jewish population, the Jewish population which survived the Holocaust and the 1948 War of Independence.

UNRWA was chartered by UN charter as a UN instrument. Its mission is to propagate the RETURN of Arabs who left their homes back to the land of Israel, with the aim of REPLACING the Jewish population living there and dismantling the Jewish state.

Justin Trudeau needs UNRWA for vote whoring.

Ex-Israeli government official says antisemitism in Canada ‘out of control’

OTTAWA — As he attempted to speak with students at the University of Calgary last week, masked anti-Israel activists pounded on the doors shouting “Allahu akbar!”

That was the scene that greeted former Israeli government spokesperson Eylon Levy on Halloween during a cross-country speaking tour that he said exposed him to the true nature of Canada’s pressure cooker of largely tolerated antisemitism and hatred against Jews.

Kidnap or rescue: Was ‘Hezbollah operative’ abducted by Israel a double agent?

A Lebanese ship captain abducted by Israeli special forces may have been acting as a double agent.

Imad Ahmaz, described by the Israeli military as a “senior Hezbollah operative”, was extracted from a residential building in Batroun, 20 miles north of Beirut, in Lebanon, on Friday.

At least 12 naval commandos from Shayetet 13 – Israel’s version of the Royal Navy’s Special Boat Service (SBS) or the US Navy’s SEALs – were involved in the dramatic raid, which was launched from an unknown location in the Mediterranean sea.

A contentious partnership, high-profile resignations and accusations of antisemitism. Inside the turmoil at Canada’s most prestigious literary prize

The executive director of the Giller Prize privately told authors that she was working to end the Giller’s financial partnership with its lead sponsor, Scotiabank, amid growing controversy surrounding the bank’s ties with an Israeli arms manufacturer.

But despite behind-the-scenes assurances from Elana Rabinovitch that the foundation responsible for the literary award was planning to “extricate” itself from Scotiabank, the organization appeared to abruptly change direction, publicly doubling down on the partnership, which began in 2005.

Purging Jews From the Arts

Sally Rooney is a clarifying figure in the literary world. She does not go for complexity or nuance, and she doesn’t like to leave herself open to interpretation. Rooney has now written the same novel four times, likely to avoid any possible confusion over what it is she wants to say. And rather than hide behind some disingenuous claim of “just anti-Zionism,” she does things like oppose her last novel’s translation into Hebrew, an act of overt hostility to Jews and only Jews.

‘End of the War’ in Gaza, Lebanon, Iran? Not Quite Yet

October 17. Israeli authorities announce that Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Hamas terrorist organization, the man who planned and ordered the atrocities of October 7, 2023 and the hostage-taking that accompanied them, has been eliminated. In the hours that followed, US President Joe Biden said that Sinwar had been an “insurmountable obstacle” and that his death offered “the opportunity… for a political settlement” in Gaza. A short time later, US Vice President Kamala Harris said that it was now possible to “finally end the war in Gaza.”

Ottawa under pressure to give more Lebanese a safe haven in Canada

Ottawa is facing calls to expand a temporary immigration program that gives people who have managed to escape Lebanon a safe haven in Canada, with MPs and immigration experts saying the measures are too limited and leave relatives of Canadians in peril.

Earlier this week, the federal government announced a program that will allow Lebanese nationals and their immediate families to extend their stay in Canada so they can avoid the fighting between Israel and Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah that has escalated over the past five weeks.

No thanks, cancel that order.
