Canadian politicians are condemning violent anti-NATO, pro-Palestinian protests in Montreal Friday evening.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that “acts of anti-Semitism, intimidation and violence must be condemned,” and that the RCMP is in touch with Montreal Police.

Indigo vandalism probe not influenced by Heather Reisman’s calls to Toronto’s top cop, Ontario judge rules — but chief should still explain it

An Ontario judge has found there is “no evidence” the Toronto police investigation into vandalism at an Indigo store was personally influenced by the company’s CEO — but said it’s reasonable to ask the police chief to explain why he twice spoke to Heather Reisman in the incident’s immediate aftermath.

In a decision released this week, Ontario judge Philip Downes shut down a sweeping legal application filed by lawyers for six of the so-called Indigo 11, which sought reams of additional police and financial records in order to mount a Charter challenge of their criminal charges.

Hungary invites Netanyahu to visit as world leaders split over ICC arrest warrant

Hungary’s illiberal prime minister, Viktor Orbán, has said he will invite his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, to visit in defiance of an international criminal court arrest warrant, as world leaders split over the ICC’s momentous decision.

The world’s highest criminal court issued warrants on Thursday for Netanyahu, his former defence minister Yoav Gallant and the Hamas commander Ibrahim al-Masri, commonly known as Mohammed Deif, who is believed to be dead, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Orbán, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency and who has previously said he would not arrest the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, who is also wanted by the ICC, called the court’s decision “outrageously brazen” and “cynical”.

Europe is turning into one big no-go zone

The Migration Research Institute in Budapest, linked to the prestigious Matthias Corvinus College, estimates 900 uncontrolled areas throughout Europe. A Europe of open borders has ended up filled with no-go zones.

Amid the usual laughter of commentators and Twitter users, eight years ago Donald Trump scandalized the right-thinking people by stating that “no-go zones” were being created in Europe. No-go zones? It must have been another fake by Trump, they said.

David Ignatius in the New York Times had used the expression, explaining that some areas of Paris had become “no-go zones at night”. Then Michael Nazir-Ali, bishop of Rochester, spoke of no-go zones in England.

On Thursday, the International Criminal Court (ICC) concluded they had identified the real criminals in the Israel-Gaza war and issued arrest warrants for Israel’s leaders. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant were cited as being criminally responsible for a “war crime of starvation as a method of warfare; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts.” In this, the ICC continues the general degradation of the West’s formerly venerable institutions with their seemingly bottomless inability to distinguish right from wrong.

The Mohammedans will be emboldened by Trudeau’s aktion.

Will they make an effort to desecrate Christmas as they did last year?

MPs who’ve been looking into Canada’s role in fostering peace in the Middle East will have their work cut out for them as they prepare a final report after a contentious study that saw witnesses shunned and disinvited.

The committee, which is chaired by Liberal MP Ali Ehsassi (Willowdale, Ont.), held four meetings in October and November to look at the ways Canada can advance recognition of a State of Palestine as part of a two-state solution.

Arrest warrants issued for Netanyahu, Gallant and Hamas commander over alleged war crimes

Judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) have issued arrest warrants for Israel’s prime minister and former defence minister, as well as Hamas’s military commander.

A statement said a pre-trial chamber had rejected Israel’s challenges to the court’s jurisdiction and issued warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant.

A warrant was also issued for Mohammed Deif, although the Israeli military has said he was killed in an air strike in Gaza in July.
