The federal cabinet minister said in an interview with The Canadian Press on Monday that the museum should change how it portrays the current conflict between Israel and Palestinians and update the museum’s oversight.

A charity connected to the controversial group HonestReporting Canada, which claims to expose anti-Israel bias in news media, has launched two court battles against the attempted revocation of its registration by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Correspondence received this week from Joshua Z. Lavine of the Shurat HaDin-Israel Law Center says the centre “is filing an injunction soon.”
The legal step comes after internal emails obtained by the National Post revealed co-ordination between officials at the Winnipeg museum and a representative of the Palestinian Authority on the exhibit’s content and progress.

At the opening of a national summit on antisemitism five years ago, then-senator Marc Gold told those gathered: “Antisemitism in all its forms is not a job for one summit. It’s not a job for one generation.”
But can it be the job of one council?
When Prime Minister Mark Carney gave what was supposed to be a landmark speech about antisemitism this month (which has been derided as falling far short by many, including this newspaper’s editorial board), he revealed the members of the previously announced Ministerial Advisory Council on Rights, Equality and Inclusion, and tasked the council with dealing with antisemitism as its first priority.
