“Critical Race Theory” Crackpot Communism

The kids didn’t grow out of it.

In 2017, the super lawyer David Boies was at a corporate retreat at the Ritz-Carlton in Key Biscayne, Florida, hosted by his law firm, Boies, Schiller and Flexner. Boies was a liberal legend: He had represented Al Gore in Bush v. Gore, and, in 2013, successfully defended gay marriage in California, in Hollingsworth v. Perry, paving the way for the landmark Supreme Court ruling two years later.

On the last day of the retreat, Boies gave a talk in the hotel ballroom to 100 or so attorneys, according to a lawyer who was present at the event. Afterwards, Boies’s colleagues were invited to ask questions.

Most of the questions were yawners. Then, an associate in her late twenties stood up. She said there were lawyers at the firm who were “uncomfortable” with Boies representing disgraced movie maker Harvey Weinstein, and she wanted to know whether Boies would pay them severance so they could quit and focus on applying for jobs at other firms. Boies, who declined to comment for this article, said no.

Two years ago, I discovered the subversive diversity, equity, and inclusion movement secretly deployed to indoctrinate children — my children. Propaganda-based children’s books were read in class to my first grader. The private Montessori school offered no warning to parents; I merely heard my child mentioning rainbows and parades in the car-ride home from school. A trip into the classroom revealed the books This Day in June and Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag, complete with images of gay pride parades and “God Says No” signs. I was dumbfounded and felt betrayed. Why would these books be part of an elementary education, let alone a Montessori curriculum based on innocence of the child?

It might be thought that with the decline in the centrality of religion and the huge embrace of secularism in western society that there would be an equal decline in doctrine. We may see doctrine as being the great catalogue of dogmas: those “truths” you must believe, those you must never challenge and those that are to be passed inflexibly on to young people with all the force and efficiency of indoctrination.

Parent activists in northern Virginia chanted “racist” at a public school board meeting while a mother shared an anti-critical race theory book about the district’s wrongdoings, according to video footage of the encounter.

Asra Nomani, a parent activist in the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), brought copies of the book “Race to the Bottom” to share with the FCPS Board. The book includes an investigation into the board’s role in lowering admissions standards at an elite magnet school to lower the number of Asian students admitted.

An American school has been “downgraded” by officials. The cause? The school is accused of “placing more weight on teaching social justice than on subject-specific knowledge.” So apparently, pupils at the school spent more time being taught about “social justice” than tedious old skills like reading, writing and math. Teachers, meanwhile, were accused of clogging up lessons with “stridently expressed views on social justice” and creating a culture “where alternative opinions are not felt welcome.” All the time, educational standards have slipped.

San Francisco Board of Education President Gabriela López, along with two other school board members, lost a recall election in a landslide with 72 percent of the vote cast against them.

One would think that if 75 percent of the voters were mad enough at you to trek to a polling place in the middle of winter to kick your butt to the curb, that might be a humbling experience for some people.

Parents are fighting the return of segregation

“Young boys and girls must grow up with world perspectives”. On 22nd April 1965, Martin Luther King Jr, speaking at a meeting of the Massachusetts legislature, lamented the “tragedy” of school segregation. With the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the US had finally dismantled the Jim Crow laws — which King had joked about burying a decade earlier. The nation had come to King’s conclusion: “Segregation debilitates the segregator as well as the segregated”.

Indoctrinating corrections officers in critical race theory will make a difficult, dangerous job even tougher.

Diversity training is hot right now. And you may have heard that employers are doubling down on the concept, forcing their employees to take additional and more aggressive forms of “equity and inclusion” training.

Increasingly, government HR departments are pushing the same agenda as the private sector. Colorado’s state prison system embraced some of the worst forms of these programs. It began requiring all corrections officers to undergo shockingly racist “DEI” (diversity, equity, and inclusion) training, so they could apply what they had learned in their work with inmates. The lessons even caused some corrections officers, like our client, former sergeant Joshua Young, to leave their jobs.
