U.S. President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci says Canadian health officials don’t appear to be doing anything wrong in their response to the global pandemic, despite rising caseloads in most parts of the country.
“What goes through my head when I look north is not that Canadians are doing anything wrong or making any big mistakes at all,” he told CBC News Network’s Power & Politics in an exclusive interview.

The leaders of the bill said there has been a recent increase in religious exemptions.

When Donald Trump was president and Republicans were questioning the origins of the coronavirus pandemic, left-wing media outlets like The Washington Post couldn’t call them liars fast enough. Back then, the Post insisted that only a stupid conspiracy theorist would suggest or question whether the coronavirus may have come from a lab in Wuhan, China.
As India battles through one of the world’s deadliest surges of the Covid-19 pandemic, this week India’s health minister Harsh Vardhan insisted that its fatality rate from the disease remained “the lowest in the world”.
It was a statement that jarred with the devastating images and accounts that have flowed out of India in the past fortnight, of hospitals and morgues filled to capacity, people dying on pavements from scarcity of oxygen, and crematoriums and graveyards visibly overflowing with bodies.

At 6:41 p.m. on Dec. 10, an urgent email went out to families of residents at Tendercare Living Centre.
The long-term-care home warned of an escalating COVID-19 outbreak at the 254-bed facility in the eastern Toronto suburb of Scarborough.
“Residents who have Covid-19 will be moved to the 4th floor on December 11, 2020,” read the email, signed by Francis Martis, executive director and Esther Spencer, director of care.

OTTAWA — Canadians will “shortly” receive federal guidance around what they can, and can’t do safely after their first and second COVID-19 shots, according to Health Minister Patty Hajdu.
Facing questions about why Canada has yet to offer any formal guidance to people who have been vaccinated about what degree of risk they have in certain circumstances in the way the United States has, Hajdu said it’s in the works.

Ontario is reporting 3,369 cases of #COVID19 and over 46,800 tests completed. Locally, there are 1,050 new cases in Toronto, 819 in Peel, 286 in York Region, 158 in Ottawa and 157 in Durham.

Why warnings of a deadly 3rd wave in Canada may have gone unheeded
It was a Friday in February and Canada’s COVID-19 situation seemed to be improving. The second wave had crested. Just over 3,000 cases were reported countrywide that day, Feb. 19, down from a peak of 8,766 six weeks earlier.
Dr. Theresa Tam, however, came to a virtual news conference with a warning. New variants of the novel coronavirus threatened the country’s progress.
“We’ve been saying all along that if we ease measures too soon, the epidemic will resurge even stronger. But with highly contagious variants in our midst, the threat of uncontrolled epidemic growth is significantly elevated,” Canada’s chief public health officer said.
Tam has zero credibility. She parroted the Communist Chinese Party line and spread falsehoods from spread to masks etc etc etc.
An OPP spokesperson said Thursday night the amount of the fine will be determined in court. Fines, if convicted, can reach up to $10 million for corporations.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said today his government is open to stricter penalties for travellers who violate the mandatory quarantine period.
The PM also appeared to swat away Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s call for stronger restrictions at the land border, arguing the measures now in place are working.
“We’re always looking at doing more enforcement, at stepping up on the penalties on that, and we’ll continue to work with the provinces on that,” Trudeau told a media briefing in Ottawa today.
“This study highlights the importance of getting second doses of the vaccine rolled out to protect the population,” said Rosemary Boyton, a professor of immunology and respiratory medicine at Imperial who co-led the study.
“People who have had their first dose of vaccine and who have not previously been infected with SARS-CoV-2 are not fully protected against the circulating ‘variants of concern’.”
You can’t legally dine in at a popular restaurant under COVID-19 rules.
However, Hollywood can get around those rules and make a movie about dining in at that same restaurant.
