OTTAWA – Oil and gas producers in Canada will be required to cut greenhouse gas emissions by about one-third over the next eight years under new regulations being published today by Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault.
The regulations, still only in draft format and about two years behind schedule, could further strain relations between Ottawa and the Alberta government which recently launched a $7-million advertising campaign to “scrap the cap.”

3 arrested and charged after protest at Brampton Hindu temple, police say
Peel Regional Police say they have charged three people following a protest outside a Hindu temple in Brampton on Sunday that was widely condemned by political leaders at all levels of government.
Police did not elaborate on the nature of the charges or the accused in a brief statement posted to X, formerly Twitter, in the early morning hours Monday.
They added, however, that they are continuing to investigate “several acts of unlawfulness” and that more information could be forthcoming.

There are two good reasons why Justin Trudeau’s Liberals are once again accusing Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives of wanting to take away abortion rights. First, the Liberals are desperate. Second, as a political ploy, it works.
The federal government announced this week that new legislation will require pregnancy counselling centres, many of which are faith-based, to tell patients up front whether they provide access to abortion and birth-control services. Those that do not provide that information could lose their charitable status.
“A silent majority of the Sikhs do not want to have anything to do with Khalistan. They just don’t speak out because they’re afraid of violence and violent repercussions,” reports Ujjal Dosanjh, as a Sikh living in Vancouver, B.C.
The call for a separate Sikh homeland in Punjab, India — to be called Khalistan — has been brewing since the 1930s, when British rule in India was nearing its end. Although the movement now has marginal support in India, it has taken wings in Canada and escalated into the present derailing of relations between two friendly Commonwealth democracies, India and Canada.
This mess is on Trudeau.
He provided a safe haven for Khalistan militants in exchange for Sikh votes never thinking there might be repercussions.
Not that he cares.
Political myths die hard in this country – and one of the oldest, fuelled by the federal Liberals for decades, is that voters only worry about the Conservatives having a “hidden agenda.”
Except that’s not true.
Canadians are also worried Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberals have a “hidden agenda.”

India trashes Canada for linking home minister to Sikh activist plot
NEW DELHI – India officially protested on Saturday the Canadian government’s allegation that the country’s powerful home minister Amit Shah had ordered the targeting of Sikh activists inside Canada, calling it “absurd and baseless.”
Relations between the two countries soured after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said last year there were credible allegations the Indian government had links to the assassination of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada. India has vehemently rejected the accusation.
Trudeau knowingly supports Khalistan militants in Canada, he does so to harvest the Sikh vote.
This whole affair is about Justin’s lust to remain in power.

So, the current state of affairs in that Neverland called Ottawa is that a few nameless Liberal MPs wish Justin Trudeau would leave.
But he is a cagey one.
Fearing that this day would come sometime, he finished off that institution called the Liberal Party of Canada in favour of his progressive socialist party, leaving only the Liberal Caucus to oppose him – and they have no power.
