Five auto CEOs warned Carney in May that EV mandate would ‘inflict serious damage’ across industry

OTTAWA — Less than two weeks after the Liberal cabinet was sworn in, the presidents of the five major automakers appealed directly to Prime Minister Mark Carney, requesting him to “urgently” repeal the federal zero-emission vehicle sales mandate, warning of industry-wide repercussions if it is not.

More than two months later, and with no public indication as to whether the government will listen, frustration is only building, says Brian Kingston, president and CEO of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers’ Association, which sent the May 26 letter and represents Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis.

Carney is as bad as Junior and possibly as twisted as his wife when it comes to evangelical eco-nuttery.

The search for a summer job is a rite of passage.

Filled with anxiety and reward, the quest in Canada offers young people an introduction to the marketplace, where they will spend a large portion of their lives, hopefully leading to independence and self-confidence.

But this summer in Canada, opportunities for people between the ages of 15 and 24 are abysmal. Their hunt is full of dead ends and discouragement. Talk about making hope-filled young people feel unwanted.

The Liberal government and their Corporate cronies should be jailed for the ruin they have visited upon Canada with their hateful mass immigration policy.

Last week, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada intends to recognize a Palestinian state in September. This would be a dangerous, highly premature decision — and a foreign policy blunder that could embarrass Canada while compounding the crisis in the Middle East instead of bringing Israelis and Palestinians anywhere closer to a lasting peace.

If it means winning the Muslim-Left vote bloc then Carney is happy.

Canada’s reputation was destroyed under Trudeau’s reign.

There are no eggs left to break so Carney may as well go along to get along with whoever he might strike a deal with.

Carney promises new trading relationships, can’t handle U.S.

Mark Carney showed up at Gorman’s Mill in West Kelowna, B.C., on Tuesday promising to change Canada’s trading relationship. If we judged that promise based off his promise to strike a deal with Donald Trump, he’d get an automatic fail.

“Most of the existing policies have been formulated on the fly without any evidence or serious impact evaluations of what the various classes of immigrants are, how they’re performing economically and otherwise,” said Michael Trebilcock, a retired academic and co-author of two books on immigration policy.
