U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump is not just revving his engines — he is ready to go. There have been a flurry of proclamations and appointments, including that of former ICE director Tom Homan as his “border czar.” What will Homan do in the role? At the 2024 National Conservatism Conference in Washington, he promised, “Trump comes back in January…. I will run the biggest deportation operation this country’s ever seen.” With 11 million migrants illegally in the country, he is not kidding.
There’s a new czar in town.
President-elect Donald Trump’s new “border czar” Tom Homan has a message for New York City and other sanctuary jurisdictions: Nothing will stop us from deporting migrant criminals.
“If we can’t get assistance from New York City, we may have to double the number of agents we send to New York City,” he said on Fox & Friends on Monday. “Because we’re going to do the job with you or without you.”

If anybody thought that Trump was just running for president to avoid prosecution (yes, a lot of Democrats did believe that!), his initial moves as president-elect should dispel that notion and put them on notice that he intends to win bigly.

Rampant drug-fuelled violence in France is turning the country into what has been dubbed a ‘Mexicanized narco-state’ by a leading politician.
Narco wars are being fought across the country and have seen teenagers and children shot, stabbed and burned alive, gang kingpins broken out of custody, and cocaine washed up on beaches.
France’s new conservative interior minister recently declared war on the operating gangs after a 15-year-old boy was caught in the crossfires and killed in a massive brawl and gunfight in Poitiers, on November 1.

RCMP in Quebec say they have prepared contingency plans in case of an influx of migrants from the United States after Donald Trump’s victory, as Quebec Premier François Legault and Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet raised fears about asylum claimants streaming into the province.
Mr. Legault warned about “turbulence” at the border, saying Wednesday that he expects a stream of asylum seekers from the U.S. and arguing that the capacity of Quebec to integrate new arrivals had already been exceeded.

A functioning immigration system must remove illegal aliens
Recent disclosures by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that hundreds of thousands of criminal immigrants are at large in the United States raise the question of why the Biden-Harris administration isn’t doing more to remove them. Increasing deportations is a necessary part of fixing what Vice President Kamala Harris refers to as “our broken immigration system.” She is right to describe it that way. But the administration in which she serves was the one to break it, not least by impeding ICE deportations.

As Election Day approaches, border control has become a key topic among the presidential candidates. While much of the discussion focuses on the southern border, the northern border — the international border between Canada and the United States — often receives less attention.
The northern border is more than 5,000 miles long, double the length of the southern border, and is experiencing a record surge in migrant encounters. Data collected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection show agents encountered migrants over 198,000 times in fiscal year 2024, more than seven times the encounters in 2021.
Republican Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is suing Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and various security agencies after an illegal immigrant entered the state with a rare, drug-resistant form of tuberculosis.
Governor Jeff Landry joined Murrill on Wednesday to allege U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials shuttled the infected Chinese national around in detention, putting them in contact with at least 200 other detainees and staff.
