It occurred during a conversation some years after the Rivers of Blood speech. A group of conservatives were talking, and Powell was among them. At some point one of those present referred to the 1968 speech and asked Powell: “Why did you do it?”

It is just over three years since a 12-year-old Parisian girl called Lola was raped and murdered in a crime that shocked France. The woman accused of the murder, 27-year-old Dahbia Benkired, is now on trial and on Monday the court heard chilling evidence from a man who encountered the defendant shortly after the death of Lola.
Karim Bellazoug told the court that Benkired was carrying a large trunk and told him she had items to sell. When he glanced inside he saw what looked like a body. “I thought she was crazy, that she was a psychopath,” Bellazoug declared.
This entire exercise is a thought experiment, an attempt to look at illegal immigration through the lens of simplicity. Regardless of whether the numbers are distorted, underinflated, or politically manipulated, the point remains: the cost to the U.S. taxpayer is enormous. It takes away from their children’s future, their retirement security, and their ability to pay monthly bills. This is not a partisan rant, it’s a segmented breakdown of a quiet crisis.
In a time when families are tightening budgets and questioning every dollar spent, one cost remains largely invisible, yet it drains billions from our economy and erodes the moral foundation of our republic. That cost is illegal immigration. Not the emotional narrative, not the political theater, but the real, measurable, taxpayer-funded burden that most Americans haven’t been told they’re carrying.
Ireland is protesting, again. Yesterday evening, more than 500 people in Saggart, County Dublin, gathered outside the Citywest IPAS (asylum) centre to demand an end to uncontrolled mass migration. The crowd waved Irish flags, brandished placards with anti-immigration slogans, and chanted “Get them out!” Some threw glass bottles, bricks, and even fireworks at police—at one point, a Garda van was set alight, and a handful of protestors charged on horseback at riot police. So far, the unrest has resulted in six arrests.

A police hunt is under way to find a migrant convicted of sexually assaulting a schoolgirl in Epping after he was mistakenly released from custody days before he was due to be deported.
Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu, 41, an Ethiopian national, was freed in error after a mix-up by security officers who were transferring him from a jail to an immigration detention centre.
SOCIAL media was alive on Tuesday night with reports of protests outside the CityWest migrant hotel on the outskirts of Dublin. Among other media organisations, the BBC covered the incident, with the headline: ‘Arrests after violent protest outside Dublin migrant hotel’.
Not from the headline nor anywhere in the BBC’s report could you glean any reason why more than a thousand people should have assembled outside a Dublin hotel on a cold, wet October night.
A crash on Tuesday in California involving an illegal alien truck driver resulted in three deaths and the hospitalization of several others.
Authorities identified the commercial truck driver allegedly responsible for the deadly collision as Jashanpreet Singh, a 21-year-old Indian national in the United States illegally.

What has become clear is that liberal democracy may not depend on shared ethnicity, but it absolutely depends on a shared culture.

Critics noted the disproportionate presence of white liberal Baby Boomers. Well, it turns out that a conservative research team relying on publicly available information discovered that the No Kings movement is funded by—surprise!—George Soros and other progressive oligarchs.
A migrant deported to France as part of the one in, one out scheme has returned to the UK on a small boat.
The man, who wants to claim asylum in the UK, is being held in an immigration detention centre. It is understood that the Home Office will seek to remove him again swiftly.

Last night, the BBC told one of the grossest lies of omission I have ever seen in the mainstream media. Not one of the words – not one – addressed the thing that angered them.
It has become one of the most often repeated mantras of our late Soviet age of European—or, rather, of EU—history: “We need immigration.” A continent with too few births and too much debt is told time and again by its political class that it will survive only by importing millions of new workers from the Third World. The idea is repeated by politicians, quantified by economists, and echoed by journalists. But decades of mass migration have left Europe poorer in relative terms than it has been since, at least, the 15th century. Europeans have been fed a lie.
Canada’s immigration department does not collect information on how many migrants are in the country illegally, Deputy Immigration Minister Harpreet Kochhar says.
“We do count through Stats Canada, the census, but we would not have any estimation of those who do not have a particular status in Canada,” Kochhar testified at the House of Commons Immigration Committee on Oct. 21, as first reported by Blacklock’s Reporter.
