Canada’s electronic spy agency conducted cyberattacks on criminals brokering fentanyl ingredients, report says

Canada’s electronic eavesdropping agency conducted cyberattacks to disrupt the activities of online foreign criminals who were brokering the purchase and sale of precursor chemicals used to make the opioid fentanyl, according to its latest annual report.

The Communications Security Establishment, in its 2025–26 annual report, said it also stepped up its intelligence and cyberdefence work in the Arctic this year, citing growing interest in the region from Russia and China, “extending beyond traditional military and cyberthreats to include economic and influence-related activities that seek to shape access, infrastructure, and decision-making in the region.”

‘Hellbrew of Hate’: The New Relevance of Cold War Anti-Communist Movies

‘Hellbrew of Hate’: The New Relevance of Cold War Anti-Communist Movies

These movies aren’t bad. In fact, many of them are great.

This was the thought I had in 2024, when I attended the American Film Institute’s series “Fabulous 50s.” The series highlighted American movies from the 1950s. There were classics screened: Ben-Hur. Carmen Jones, A Streetcar Named Desire. The Night of the Hunter, Singin’ in the Rain, and my favorite, Sweet Smell of Success.

Paper Agreements Will Not Disarm Terrorists

Paper Agreements Will Not Disarm Terrorists

For decades, Western diplomats and decision-makers have clung to one of the most dangerous illusions in the Middle East: the belief that Islamist terrorist organizations can be persuaded through negotiations and diplomatic agreements to surrender their weapons and abandon their jihad (holy war) against Israel.

Reality continues to prove that persuading terrorist regimes to give up their weapons is not the walk in the park they might have hoped.

Condo prices have crashed. What’s the minimum income you need to buy your own Toronto condo now?

According to data collected by Ratehub, the average Toronto condo price in March 2022 was $831,351, requiring a household income of $156,320. As of May 2026, the average condo price has dropped by roughly 19 per cent, to $673,841, requiring a household income of $139,000.

BUT … The Star is omitting pertinent facts about income figures.

The average household income in the City of Toronto is approximately $121,200 to $129,000 before taxes, while the median household income is roughly $84,000 to $97,000. The higher average compared to the median is typically skewed by a larger share of upper-income households.

In Ontario, the average household total income is approximately $116,000 before taxes, and the average after-tax income is about $95,300. For median household income (the midpoint), the figure sits at roughly $81,000 before taxes and $79,500 after taxes

Intel agencies set to show Xi Jinping’s hidden wealth

American intelligence agencies are working on a report to Congress that will disclose new details about the wealth of Chinese Communist Party leaders, including Party General Secretary Xi Jinping, who is also president, according to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

The public report is due before the end of the year and is required under the fiscal 2026 Intelligence Authorization Act signed into law in December as part of the Defense Authorization Act.

“I can confirm ODNI is actively working on the report, as required by the FY26 IAA,” an ODNI spokeswoman told Inside the Ring.

Some whiny Indigenous people wary of ‘colonial symbolism’ of Order of Canada: study

Indigenous community members have encouraged federal officials to reflect on how the Order of Canada can overcome its “deep colonial symbolism and associations,” says an internal government presentation on efforts to modernize the Canadian honours system.

The April presentation, prepared for the Order of Canada Advisory Council, says recent feedback indicates that accepting the honour “could bring feelings of discomfort or shame” to some Indigenous people due to its colonial associations.

Media Continues to Present Status Quo on Guns As Radical Departure

Media Continues to Present Status Quo on Guns As Radical Departure

One good thing about the Wolford decision is that it’s giving us plenty to write about. Hemani gave us a bit, too, but since most of the media is pro-marijuana, it wasn’t quite as much as we might have liked. Wolford, though, has gotten all the anti-gunners wound up. When they get wound up, they start talking stupid, such as pretending that the vampire rule wasn’t a radical departure from the status quo.

Is the Democrat Schism Finally Here?

Is the Democrat Schism Finally Here?

Liberals have a problem, and it’s the same problem they’ve had for decades. There is a steadfast refusal to call out their own side’s radicals and nutjobs. In living memory, they’ve tolerated the Occupy Wall Street movement, the rotunda takeovers, the BLM rioters, the Antifa terrorists, Islamic extremists, the Squad clown car, and every blue-haired, errant, non-binary androgyne who identifies as a gelfling one minute and Atreyu’s luck dragon the next.

Real communism has never been tried in the Condo Market says Star

The backlash came fast and furious, and with greater velocity than perhaps at any other moment in Mark Carney‘s tenure as prime minister.

The Liberals’ proposal last week — to put up 10 per cent of roughly $1.45 billion for the acquisition of unsold B.C. condos which in turn would be sold at affordable rates on a rent-to-buy basis — was rapidly condemned by critics as a “bailout” — evidence not only of political perfidy, but also ideological gymnastics on the part of a former central banker who, once upon a time, cautioned against this kind of moral hazard. (Carney himself acknowledged the reveal was a case study in miscommunication)

Nolte: ‘Supergirl’ Is a Super Flop All Over the Globe

Supergirl didn’t just flop at the box office this weekend; it is a flop of epic proportions, an abysmal failure that will be remembered only as a failure.

With a disastrous $38 million domestic opening and an even more humiliating overseas take of $30 million, Supergirl is a bigger domestic flop than The Marvels ($46 million), The Flash ($55 million), Black Adam ($67 million), and Morbius ($39 million).

Half of units at newly refurbished Darlington station offline in prolonged outages

Two of four reactors at Ontario’s Darlington Nuclear Generating Station have been out of service for prolonged outages, after the completion of a 10-year refurbishment that provincial officials have repeatedly characterized as an unqualified success.

The station’s reactors were refurbished between October, 2016, and early March, when the final unit returned to service. Ever since, station owner Ontario Power Generation and the provincial government have told the public that the project was completed four months ahead of schedule, and $150-million under its $12.8-billion budget.
