NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh was quick to clap back at a drive-by heckler on Tuesday, inviting the man to “have a conversation” with him instead of shouting expletives out of his car window.

Singh was speaking outside of a Dominion grocery store in St. John’s, N.L., about high food prices when a man in a black car pulled up next to him in the parking lot shouting an expletive of a sexual nature about Singh and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Quebec trucking company ordered to reinstate driver fired for drinking and driving

A Quebec trucking company has been ordered to reinstate a driver who was fired after she drank at least nine beers before she lost control of her truck on a Pennsylvania highway.

The driver’s actions amounted to serious misconduct, but her drinking was the result of a disability — alcoholism — and trucking company Groupe Robert should have made a reasonable accommodation for her, labour arbitrator Huguette April said in a written decision on July 18.

“The night of the accident, she needed to drink,” April said. “She admitted that even though she knew she shouldn’t, the need was stronger, like something that she couldn’t control.”

Trudeau discovers housing crisis his destructive mass immigration policy created, declares himself blameless

There are simply not enough affordable places for people to live across Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Monday during an housing announcement in Hamilton, where he promised the federal government would work to scale up supply.

Mr. Trudeau stood alongside Mayor Andrea Horwath in Hamilton to announce a joint plan to build and repair 214 homes in the city, with Ottawa spending $45-million for four projects. The City of Hamilton will contribute $19.1-million.

“Today is about increasing housing supply,” Mr. Trudeau said. “I will be blunt as well: Housing isn’t a primary federal responsibility. It’s not something we have direct carriage of. But it is something that we can and must help with.”

A zoo in China has refused to grin and bear it after video of one of its bears standing on its hind legs went viral — forcing officials to deny it was a human in a costume.

Hangzhou Zoo addressed the wild allegations in a statement pretending to be from Angela, the Malaysian sun bear seen standing up and staring at bemused-looking visitors.
