British Army is hit by a cyber attack after its Twitter and YouTube accounts begin posting about ape-themed NFTs and cryptocurrency

The British Army’s Twitter account has been hacked and flooded with content promoting giveaways and competitions for followers to win non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The social media account’s name has changed several times, with new profile pictures including an ape wearing facepaint akin to that of Batman villain The Joker, as well as a cartoon robot.

Posts made from the account are urging followers to join competitions, with winners selected at random to receive NFTs – digital artworks that are stored on the blockchain.

Northrup’s line-of-duty death ‘still affecting’ fellow Toronto cops a year later

Toronto Police Det.-Const. Jeffrey Northrup was remembered by 52 Division on Saturday — the first anniversary of his death.

Northrup, 55, and his partner were investigating a stabbing in City Hall’s underground parking lot when it’s alleged the 31-year veteran was intentionally struck by a vehicle driven by Thornhill accountant Umar Zameer.

Women who question transgender ideology have been branded ‘farts’ as part of equalities training offered to civil servants in Nicola Sturgeon’s Government, it has emerged.

Workers who attended a workplace “trans 101” course were told the term was an acronym for “feminism appropriating ridiculous transphobe” and that women who oppose inclusivity measures were part of a “trans hate group”.

More than a dozen driverless taxis caused a gridlock in one of the first public trials of the technology

A swarm of driverless taxis held up traffic for hours at a junction after one of the first public trials of the technology went wrong.

More than a dozen autonomous vehicles operated by driverless car company Cruise in San Francisco came to a halt for around two hours before employees made it to the scene on Wednesday.

The company has not revealed what caused the vehicles to stop or why multiple cars suffered the fault at the same place. Several were stationary at the entrance to the crossroad junction, while others were stopped at the exit.

Officer was ‘choked,’ four people arrested in ‘interaction’ at the National War Memorial: Ottawa police

Ottawa police say an officer was choked in a confrontation at the National War Memorial.

Police say they are reviewing video of the incident but the “initial investigation” found an interaction between officers and individuals at the site became “confrontational” after one officer was choked.

Other officers then responded and four people were arrested.

Still no idea what went on.

Poilievre joins soldier protesting COVID-19 mandates in march through Ottawa ahead of Canada Day

Canadian Forces veteran James Topp was joined by Conservative Party leadership candidate Pierre Poilievre on his march through Ottawa today, as part of the final leg of his cross-country march to protest COVID-19 vaccine requirements.

Topp’s arrival comes as Ottawa prepares to host the first in-person Canada Day events in three years, and the city braces for possible protests through the weekend and into the summer.

Hundreds of people, including People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier, gathered on Robertson Road in the west end to greet Topp at 10 a.m. Friday, as he started the walk to Parliament Hill. Supporters were holding Canadian flags and signs supporting Topp and protesting mandates.

And … Doug Ford warns Ottawa ‘freedom convoy’ protesters: ‘No shenanigans this weekend’

Behave yourselves this time, protesters.

That’s the message to Ottawa-bound demonstrators from Premier Doug Ford, who backed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s use of emergency powers to end the illegal blockade around Parliament Hill last winter.

Ford said it’s “disappointing” and “not fair” that the so-called “freedom convoy” is returning on Canada Day.
