In a recent post on Twitter, Ulta highlighted a podcast with two grown men in makeup and wigs chatting about what it’s like to be a “girl.” The makeup giant’s target audience is obviously women. It’s probably a safe bet that over 90% of Ulta’s customers are women. The choice to put men in drag in the marketing material for a company geared toward women is backfiring big time.

Governor General Mary Simon says that while she thinks the way catering expenses for her trip to the Middle East in March were portrayed in the media was “unfair,” a review is underway to minimize the cost of future voyages.
“I don’t even know what the orders are for meals. But I do know one thing — our meals are not very extravagant on these trips. They’re pretty much like airline meals and the way they were portrayed in the media was pretty unfair, I thought,” Simon said in an interview on CBC’s The House airing Saturday.

The famed snow crab fishing season in Alaska’s notorious Bering Sea is canceled for the first time in the state’s history. The cancelation was confirmed on Monday.
The decision comes as officials announced that one billion snow crabs have gone missing from the sea. An investigation into the disappearance by government agencies is continuing.
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, over the last two years, the snow crab population has dropped by around 90 percent.

The Navy has acknowledged more than 150 reports of incidents involving ship encounters with unidentified small aircraft systems from 2016 to 2021, according to The Drive’s The War Zone.
The Navy’s Pacific Fleet released 35 reports on various incidents and withheld another 116 reports officials said were classified in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. All of the incident reports had been reported through the OPREP-3 reporting system between 2017 and April 22, 2021.
