The fact is we live in a very different Toronto than what we grew up in. I’ve been a resident since 64. It is verging on shithole status.

Bad immigration policy, the Ferguson effect it all takes a toll here in People City.

It makes no sense to rely on the police any longer.

All Toronto Police hear is they need to be tougher on the dangerous TTC subway.

But as soon as cops make an arrest it’s the officers under scrutiny more than the suspect alleged to have roughed up and robbed a female passenger.

Didn’t kick him hard enough.

Toronto is considering a change in the way it charges homeowners and businesses for water. The new charge is referred to as a “stormwater charge,” although many on social media are already calling it a “rain tax,” since it has to do with stormwater runoff.

As a transit fan, it was hard not to feel worried, sad and a little angry seeing the new numbers on fare evasion provided to the TTC’s audit and risk management committee last week.

The agency is now estimating that it lost a staggering $123.8 million in 2023 because of people not paying their fares when they board subways, streetcars and buses.

I wonder if they have a fare evader profile? 

How soon we forget.

Yet, when it comes this bigger-than-life man, how could we? But, yes, it was on March 22, eight years ago, that Toronto lost its 64th mayor and one of its most famous ever citizens to cancer.

I would vote for Rob any day.

The top five Canadian cities with the worst bed bugs are located in Ontario, according to Orkin Canada.

The pest and wildlife control services organization released its annual list of “bed buggiest” cities in the country on Tuesday.

Ranked number one for the seventh year in a row: Toronto.
