People may have lost some interest in politics after The Year That Was, but they’ve lost more of it at CNN than at its competitors. Variety reports that all of the Big Three cable news networks have seen significant declines over the last three months, although Fox News Channel has managed to hold the decline down to single digits.
The Media
The mainstream media’s quandary…and panic
Although it was written back in October, the cry is still echoing throughout the mainstream media.
It comes from Hamilton Nolan, formerly at Gawker Media and now the public editor for the Washington Post. He penned a piece in the Columbia Journalism Review titled “The Powerful have realized they don’t need the Post.”
What triggered Nolan was that Elon Musk had eliminated Tesla’s media relations department.
Media’s censorious gatekeepers are mad — because they’re losing power
With Donald Trump out of office and de-platformed, you’d think mainstream media gatekeepers would be happy. You’d think wrong.
Though the media-Big Tech regime is doing its best to silence opponents and seize control of the high ground, the news from within is grim. They aren’t happy with how things are going.
That’s because they know they’re losing. Some are losing audiences and revenues. But more important, they’re losing control of the narrative.
CNN, NBC Paid Antifa Activist for Footage From Capitol Breach
Three news agencies paid an activist who identifies as Antifa and was charged for allegedly committing crimes during the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol for footage he captured during the mayhem.
CNN, NBC, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) paid John Earle Sullivan thousands of dollars to use video clips he shot inside the building, according to a new court filing.
Silencing dissent: How social media giants advance fake science and drive maximum COVID-19 hysteria
Twitter threw me in the gulag for speaking out against baseless COVID-19 fear mongering. My sin, according to their COVID-19 monitoring team (which is an army of “fact checkers” who follow loose guidelines set forth by the World Health Organization, a massively corrupt “global health organization” that is largely beholden to the Chinese government): expressing contempt for an article about COVID-19 variants.
Matt Taibbi: Biden inauguration coverage shows why so many distrust the mainstream media

A day after U.S. President Joe Biden’s inauguration, the headline in Axios read: Trust In Media Hits A New Low.” Felix Salmon wrote that, “For the first time ever, fewer than half of all Americans have trust in traditional media.” The Edelman survey showed overall faith in the press dropping to 46 per cent.
The traditional explanation for this phenomenon is that Republicans hate the press a lot, but Democrats just a little. The Axios story bore this out somewhat, as only 18 per cent of Republicans reported trusting media, versus 57 per cent of Democrats.
The Mainstream Media’s Embarrassing Biden Lovefest
Their adulation is beyond parody.
When Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States at 11:48 a.m. on January 20, it was to be expected that the mainstream media would be ecstatic about the pomp and circumstance of their preferred candidate bringing his half-century of Swamp experience into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Narrative Before Facts – When will the media acknowledge their role in spreading false and inflammatory stories about police shootings?
When officer Rusten Sheskey shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back last year, the media wasted no time establishing the standard narrative: another unarmed African-American shot by racist police.
In a CNN segment on August 25, anchor Jake Tapper said, “Video shows police shoot unarmed black man.” The Washington Post, CNN, PBS, Buzzfeed, Vogue, and several other outlets referred to Blake as “unarmed.” The day after the shooting, David A. Graham, a staff writer at The Atlantic, asserted, “It’s nearly impossible to imagine any way that his shooting was justified.”
Trust In Media At All Time Low: Majority Believe Reporters Purposefully Trying To Mislead People
Each year, the American people seem to trust the media less and less.
This year’s annual survey from Edelman shows trust in traditional media and social media are at all-time lows. The annual trust barometer, shared exclusively with Axios, found fewer than half of Americans trust traditional media for the first time since the survey began.
Colour me shocked.
US Media: ‘Telling China’s Story Well’
One of the foremost tasks of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) under Xi Jinping is, at his directive, to “tell stories about China well and spread China’s voice well; enable the world to see a multidimensional and colorful China; present China as a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development, and an upholder of international order”.
When the coronavirus pandemic broke out in December 2019 in Wuhan and the Chinese authorities allowed it to spread to the rest of the world, “telling China’s story well” suddenly became an acute concern. It was necessary to save the regime’s face, deflect blame and seek to portray China as heroically battling the pandemic, instead of the reality of having caused it. China went into an even more energetic propaganda mode than usual, seeking to control the narrative about the virus at every turn.
At least the media finally came around to the idea that riots are scary
CNN’s Jake Tapper, Dana Bash, and others were aghast Wednesday as the nation watched thousands of President Trump’s supporters storm the Capitol, breaching the premises, and rioting within the building. Aside from all the violence, though, they were otherwise peaceful!
Finally, the media understand how dangerous mobs can be. Good timing.
To be sure, Wednesday’s events were grotesque. This is how liberals are expected to behave — such as when all of Washington, D.C., was boarded up in anticipation of how the locals would react if Trump won reelection. Republican-leaning precincts didn’t have to do any boarding up because that’s not expected of them.

The 5 Most Cringeworthy Media Moments Of 2020
The media has been replete with hypocrisy and outright absurdity over the course of this tumultuous year. As the year comes to a close, here’s a list of the five most cringeworthy media moments.
Major US Media Outlets Take ‘Private Dinners’, ‘Sponsored Trips’ From Chinese Communist Propaganda Front
A host of corporate media outlets including CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and MSNBC have participated in private dinners and sponsored trips with the China-United States Exchange Foundation, a Chinese Communist Party-funded group seeking to garner “favorable coverage” and “disseminate positive messages” regarding China, The National Pulse can reveal.
Why Is Media Stoking Disinformation Campaigns?
Americans need to insist that legacy media be held to account as a treacherous culprit in the mass deception campaigns attributed to politicians, shady public relations operatives, and foreign powers.
Disinformation media campaigns operated by the Russians and the Chinese may also have a domestic origin. It is not what one would think. They don’t come from sleeper cells. Instead, the American legacy media, by way of its greed and lack of accountability, is responsible for the deception.
NYT Slams Writer Not Calling Jill Biden ‘Dr.’ Here’s How They Referred To Dr. Ben Carson For Years.
In an opinion piece published on Friday in The Wall Street Journal, Joseph Epstein, former editor of The American Scholar, triggered a firestorm when he suggested that Jill Biden stop referring to herself as “Dr. Jill Biden” because she was not a medical doctor, having earned a doctorate in education.
On Saturday, The New York Times published a piece in response, titled, “An Opinion Writer Argued Jill Biden Should Drop the ‘Dr.’ (Few Were Swayed.)” The piece began, “Do people who go by Dr. need to carry stethoscopes?”
