Explosion outside French synagogue injures police officer

An explosion took place outside a synagogue in southern France on Saturday morning, which police are treating as attempted arson.

It was caused by two cars being set alight outside the Beth Yaacov synagogue in La Grande-Motte, authorities said. One of the vehicles contained a hidden gas bottle.

France’s Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin called the incident “an obviously criminal act”.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, he wrote: “I want to assure our Jewish fellow citizens and the municipality of my full support”, adding that all means were being mobilised to find the perpetrator.

A mass bomb threat against Jews? Who could have seen that coming?

If only there were signs.

If only we could have foreseen – somehow – that the climate in Canada would become so toxic toward Jews that now, in August of 2024, more than 100 Jewish institutions would receive a bomb threat, warning that the buildings’ occupants “will all end up in a pool of blood.”

“None of you deserve to keep living,” it read.

A meeting between Muslim leaders in Quebec and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau planned for this afternoon north of Montreal — weeks ahead of a critical byelection in the city — was cancelled after many of those invited refused to attend, CBC News has learned.

“Many members of our community continue to feel angry and frustrated with a government that in their view simply hasn’t operated with integrity in relation to what is happening in Gaza, or in addressing the steep rise of Islamophobia in Canada,” the National Council of Canadian Muslims told CBC News in a media statement.

Montreal synagogue on Canada-wide list of threatened Jewish institutions

Montreal police (SPVM) says at least one synagogue in Montreal is on a list of more than 100 places of worship across Canada that received a threatening email Wednesday morning.

The force received a 911 call at 7:10 a.m. about the email, which was received at 5 a.m., and officers are currently onsite at Adath Israel Poale Zedek Anshei Ozeroff on Harrow Crescent in Hampstead.

German prosecutors charge 2 Muslims accused of planning an attack in Sweden over Quran burnings

BERLIN (AP) — Two men accused of planning an attack in Sweden for an affiliate of the Islamic State group in response to the burning of copies of the Quran have been charged in Germany, where they were arrested earlier this year, prosecutors said Wednesday.

The two Afghan citizens, identified only as Ibrahim M.G. and Ramin N. in line with German privacy rules, were charged with conspiring to commit a crime and violating export laws. Ibrahim M.G. was charged with membership in a terrorist organization and Ramin N. with supporting one.

From ‘open hearts’ to closed borders: behind Sweden’s negative net immigration figures

Ten years ago the then prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt asked Swedes to “open your hearts” to refugees. Now the country’s migration minister is celebrating the fact Sweden has “negative net immigration”, with more people thought to be leaving the country than entering for the first time in more than half a century.

“The number of asylum applications is heading towards a historically low level, asylum-related residence permits continue to decrease and for the first time in 50 years Sweden has net emigration,” Maria Malmer Stenergard announced earlier this month.

Sweden’s Moderate-led government, which is supported by the far-right Sweden Democrats, has pursued increasingly restrictive asylum policies, including plans for a “snitch law” that would legally require public sector workers to report undocumented people.

The Swedes are realizing the horrid mistake they made.

Shocking Federal Police Report: Over 2,100 Crimes Per Day in Germany Last Year

The number of crimes committed in Germany has risen to its highest rate since 2012, according to the federal police’s report on crime in 2023. According to the report, released on Monday, August 19th, the total number of crimes was 790,245 last year.

Announcing the report at a press conference on Monday, federal police chief Dieter Romann added a shocking number to the already distressing figures, saying that “in relation to the total population, non-Germans are statistically six times more likely to resort to knives in an attack than German citizens. And in sexual crimes, it is seven times more likely.”

Canada should prosecute Muslim terrorist Ahmed Eldidi for war crimes … Before or after he’s appointed to the Senate?

Immigration Minister Marc Miller said he is as “disgusted as any Canadian” that Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi found his way into Canada. A House of Commons committee will now study how an alleged former Islamic State fighter became a citizen only to be caught planning a terrorist attack with his son Mostafa Eldidi on July 31.

While Ahmed Eldidi faces charges of aggravated assault in a foreign country, the allegations have the hallmarks of a war crime. Canada should prosecute them – and it has the laws and the obligation to do so.

Justin will likely appoint him to the senate.

Kamala Met With Jihad Capital Mayor Who Attended Pro-Hamas Rally
