Snow White review — Disney has trashed its crown jewel and its reputation

Believe the anti-hype. It’s that bad. This latest Disney adaptation was yanked from prerelease marketing duties — the London premiere was axed — for good reason. It represents a new low for cultural desecration and for a venerable 102-year-old entertainment company that now looks at its source material with a pinched nose of disgust.

When the Snow White star Rachel Zegler, during a now notorious Vanity Fair interview, dismissed the Disney original as a politically retrograde “85-year-old cartoon”, she was merely echoing the same clueless company vandals who had, in previous reboots, made Cruella soppy, Mulan sexless and Maleficent misunderstood.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs pleads not guilty to updated indictment

Diddy and Clinton: Scumbags R’US

Sean “Diddy” Combs has pleaded not guilty to an amended indictment that includes new allegations of forced labour.

The superseding indictment alleges the rap mogul forced employees to work long hours under threat of physical and reputational harm and forced at least one worker to engage in sex acts with him.

Mr Combs’s lawyers have denied that the rap mogul has ever forced anyone into sex acts and that the case revolves around consensual relationships with his girlfriends, the New York Times reports.

Nolte: Marvel/Disney Brand So Damaged ‘Daredevil’ Series Flopped

The failure of Marvel’s Disney+ streaming series Daredevil: Born Again should have the Disney Grooming Syndicate quaking in whatever shoes it wears while circling elementary schools in a van with “free candy” spray-painted on its side.

“According to the Mouse House, the Marvel Television series drew 7.5 million views in its first five days of availability on Disney+,” gushed the far-left Variety, but not before opening the article with this bald-faced lie: “Daredevil: Born Again enjoyed a strong launch on Disney+.”

How Disney’s Snow White remake became a $270 million headache

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, what’s the most contentious blockbuster of them all? On any list of the most trouble-plagued releases in recent Hollywood history, Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs would surely rank heigh-ho, heigh-ho highly. The $270 million-budget spectacle, starring Rachel Zegler as the storybook princess, finally hits cinemas this month after four years of seemingly never-ending online fury and negative news stories.

From calls to boycott the film and attacks over its alleged “f______ backward” depiction of little people, all the way to the sight this weekend of the movie’s two biggest stars onstage at the Oscars, supposedly refusing to make eye contact with each other over disagreements about Gaza, this is a film beset by controversies. Controversies that, even with a magical, fortune-telling looking-glass like the one hung in the Evil Queen’s castle, Disney could hardly have seen coming.

I’m on Team Evil Queen.

From teen idol to lost soul: The dark descent of Justin Bieber

For a time it seemed that Justin Bieber had managed to put his demons behind him and was enjoying a more stable phase of his life. The former teen idol, now 30, became a father for the first time in August and has been married to Hailey Bieber for seven years. There was even talk of him releasing new music in 2025.

But with the shocking pictures of him looking gaunt and haggard this week, along with cryptic Instagram messages and a recent altercation with a paparazzi, it feels as if someone has turned the clock back to a decade ago. Back to a time when the then 20-year-old pop star was acting increasingly erratically, was arrested for driving under the influence and spent a night in jail.

Diddy? Or Diddy not?

Tom Hanks roasted over ‘disgusting’ portrayal of Trump supporter at ‘SNL’ 50th anniversary special

America’s sweetheart Tom Hanks was crucified by conservatives over his “disgusting” portrayal of a simple, Trump-supporting racist on the “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special.

The two-time Academy Award winner returned to the stage Sunday night as “Doug” — a dumb, MAGA hat-wearing contestant on the recurring bit “Black Jeopardy,” where the butt of the joke is Hanks’ character and the black contestants discovering their similarities.
