‘This is concerning’: 2 Jewish-owned Toronto bakery locations targeted in suspected hate-motivated attacks

Toronto police are investigating after two locations of Jewish-owned Kiva’s bagel bar were targeted in separate incidents Sunday morning, including one where a window was struck by gunfire.

In multiple posts to social media, police say officers were first called to the Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue West area at around 8 a.m. after reports that a window at a Jewish-owned bakery had been struck by gunfire.

‘Canada’s antisemitism crisis’: Jews targeted in 71 per cent of religious hate crimes, StatCan says

‘Canada’s antisemitism crisis’: Jews targeted in 71 per cent of religious hate crimes, StatCan says

Hate crimes in Canada fell last year for the first time since 2018, but Jewish Canadians remained one of the most-targeted groups.

Police reported 4,708 hate crimes in 2025, down three per cent from 4,841 the year before, Statistics Canada said Wednesday. The decline follows six straight years of increases that more than doubled the national count between 2018 and 2024. Measured against population, the rate fell four per cent to 11 incidents per 100,000 people, still more than twice the 2018 rate.

‘Hamas sleeper cell terrorist’ is found working at luxury Crete hotel ‘while preparing cruise ship attack’ – as plot to carry out ‘second October 7’ in Europe is foiled

A suspected Hamas operative allegedly worked at a luxury hotel on the Greek island of Crete while preparing for a suspected terror attack targeting an Israeli cruise ship, according to reports.

The 37-year-old Egyptian man of Palestinian origin, identified by the media as Motasem, was arrested by Greek special forces in the tourist resort of Agios Nikolaos during a raid in early June after recently taking a job as an electrician at the hotel.

Greek police discovered chemicals, a precision scale and other specialist equipment used to make bombs inside his apartment in Athens.

Researchers blame DEI for fast decline in Canadian goodwill for Jews, Israel

Researchers blame DEI for fast decline in Canadian goodwill for Jews, Israel

Non‑Jewish Canadians hold less favourable views of Jews today than they did just two years ago, and their attitudes toward Israel have soured even more over the same period. Those are the findings of the Canadian Jewish Barometer 2026, a new national survey, and its authors pose several reasons for the decline.

A factor exacerbating the downward slide is diversity, inclusion and equity (DEI) programs that have eroded the very sensibilities they were designed to correct, said Rhonda Lenton, former president of York University, and co‑author of the study.

The embrace of DEI by major Jewish organizations such as the ADL cost them a great deal of social capital among  non-Jewish supporters.

This article maintains that “Whitey is the Uber Oppressor” sitting atop their victimhood pyramid.

The Iran-Backed ‘Decisive Campaign’ To Destroy Israel and the West

The Iran-Backed ‘Decisive Campaign’ To Destroy Israel and the West

Many Western politicians, diplomats, academics and media commentators have argued that the Iran-backed Hamas terrorist group launched its October 7, 2023 invasion of Israel because of the Israeli “blockade” on the Gaza Strip, from the necessity by Israel to prevent Hamas from smuggling in weapons with the sole purpose of destroying its Jewish neighbor.

Nearly Half of House Democrats Vote To End American Aid to Israel

Nearly Half of House Democrats Vote To End American Aid to Israel

More than 100 House Democrats on Wednesday voted to zero out all American aid to Israel — a stunning shift in the level of support that the Jewish state has on Capitol Hill. The amendment from a Republican, Congressman Thomas Massie, would have stripped all aid to Israel out of this year’s annual funding bill for the state department and foreign aid. In the years since the October 7, 2023, attacks by Hamas on Israel, Democratic voters have shifted sharply against Prime Minister Netanyahu and continued American support for his country. One poll from the New York Times and Siena College in May found that 68 percent of Democratic voters oppose sending aid to Israel, compared to just 24 percent who said they support economic and military assistance.

Report finds NGOs rife with ‘hostile behaviour related to Jews, Israel’

Some 70 former and current staff from household‑name humanitarian and rights groups have come forward in a new report, alleging widespread “hostile behaviour related to Jews, Israel, or Israelis” inside organizations that claim to defend human rights.

Those surveyed say managers ignored, tolerated or normalized the conduct, while some staffers faced retaliation for speaking out.

The Great Palestinian Election Scam

The Great Palestinian Election Scam

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has once again announced legislative and presidential elections, presenting the move as evidence of democratic renewal. According to a presidential decree issued on July 9, legislative elections are scheduled for November 28, 2026, while presidential elections are to follow during the first quarter of 2027. The decree calls on Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Jerusalem to participate in “free and direct” elections aimed at strengthening democracy.

Western governments and donors will undoubtedly welcome the announcement as a sign that Abbas is finally responding to long-standing demands for reform. They should not.

Shopify president fears for future of Jews in Canada as families contemplate what was ‘unthinkable five years ago’

Shopify president fears for future of Jews in Canada as families contemplate what was ‘unthinkable five years ago’

The president of Canada’s biggest tech company says antisemitism has been “normalized under the thinnest veil of advocacy,” and many members of the Jewish community are thinking about their future in Canada.

Harley Finkelstein was confronted, again, by an aggressive protester at Montreal’s Startupfest on Wednesday, the third time in two years he has been aggressively challenged in public for his support of Israel.

Mass immigration will make it very difficult to reverse this situation.

Adam Katz: The ‘Nakba’ exhibit’s contempt for history is worse than you think

WINNIPEG — Rather than telling the story of the Arab refugee crisis as a tragic consequence of a complex war, the new “Palestine Uprooted: Nakba Past and Present” exhibit at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights presents it as an unprovoked expulsion, encouraging visitors to view Palestinian displacement as the product of Israeli intent alone.

Hamas’s Latest Trick: Leaving Government, Keeping Weapons

Hamas’s Latest Trick: Leaving Government, Keeping Weapons

Nearly three years after the October 7, 2023 massacre and more than six months after President Donald J. Trump’s 20-point peace plan called for the complete demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, Hamas has announced that it is dissolving its de facto governing body and is prepared to hand authority to a committee of Palestinian technocrats.

At first glance, the announcement appears to represent an important concession. It is not. It is merely Hamas’s latest attempt to deceive the international community into believing that it is complying with the requirements of the Trump peace initiative while preserving what matters most to the terrorist organization: its military power.

Terry Newman: The Montreal arsonist who claimed he didn’t know it was a synagogue

MONTREAL — Last Tuesday, attendees in a Montreal courtroom heard what seemed like a fantastical story from an admitted arsonist and his lawyer. Twenty-one-year-old Mohamed Ilyes Akodad was in court to be sentenced; he had already pleaded guilty to firebombing a synagogue and Jewish community centre. Yet he insisted to the judge that he had no idea the buildings were Jewish. Instead, Akodad and his lawyer Nazar Saaty claimed he was simply carrying out a paid “three barbecues” contract on unknown locations, arranged through Signal and FaceTime. Akodad told the court that the job came after he attended a party with a friend he refused to name at a place he claimed he could not remember due to stress and drug use.
