Is Hamas preparing to contest the Palestinian parliamentary election scheduled for late November? If so, the United States and its European allies need to make one thing clear immediately: Hamas must not be allowed to participate.

The Iran-backed Palestinian terrorist group that carried out the October 7, 2023 massacre in Israel cannot be permitted to reinvent itself as a legitimate political party. After October 7, Hamas has no right to exist as a military organization. It should have no right to exist as a political organization either.

Foreign ministers of Arab and Islamic countries gathered in Jordan on August 5 and 6 to issue yet another series of condemnations of Israel. Reading their statements, one could easily conclude that there is only one party responsible for violence, instability, and suffering in the Middle East: Israel.

Hamas? Barely relevant. The Hamas-led October 7, 2023 massacre? Apparently not worth mentioning. Palestinian terrorism and incitement against Israel? Not on the agenda. The need to dismantle Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups? Evidently not a priority.

Police say that they have made a third arrest in connection with shootings at synagogues in Toronto and Vaughan in March and are no longer seeking additional suspects.

The shootings took place over the span of about 20 minutes in the late hours of March 6 and the early hours of March 7.

… That suspect has been identified as Chris Perreira, 23, of Barrie.

OTTAWA – Alexa Barett-Taller says she experienced a number of antisemitic incidents during her time at Ottawa’s Carleton University, but one stands out in particular – as it involved her professor.

“The professor actually decided to explicitly say that the Jewish people were to blame for Oct. 7,” Barett-Taller said in an interview with CTV News.

This was in the aftermath of the 2023 massacre of Jews by Hamas, and Barett-Taller says she had specifically approached her professor ahead of the class to ask that the topic be discussed with “care and nuance.” She felt her concerns were never heard.

Kavita Algu, a former palliative care doctor at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital, recently quit after a workplace investigator found her to be disruptive and unprofessional, which the Toronto Star would like you to believe is some kind of injustice. Judging from the Star’s own “investigation” and Algu’s activism, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

According to the Star’s investigation, Algu “was never told specifically what she did wrong.” She was just a physician who engaged in Palestinian advocacy and “ultimately felt she had no choice but to leave a career she had spent years building.”

A national survey of Jewish post-secondary students has found that antisemitism at Canadian universities is not an isolated problem but a pervasive feature of campus life, with the overwhelming majority reporting they have experienced or witnessed it in the past year.

The Campus Antisemitism and Student Experiences (CASE) report, commissioned by the federal government and produced by the Association for Canadian Studies and the Metropolis Institute, surveyed roughly 900 Jewish postsecondary students. It found that 95.7 percent had experienced or witnessed at least one antisemitic incident in the previous year, and that 84 percent said antisemitism is now a serious problem on their campus.

A recent report that US President Donald J. Trump’s Board of Peace is considering paying Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip thousands of dollars in exchange for surrendering their rifles should alarm anyone who genuinely seeks peace and security in the Middle East.

If true, the proposal represents a dangerous retreat from the original objective of Trump’s September 2025 peace plan: the complete demilitarization of the Gaza Strip and the unconditional disarmament of Hamas and other terrorist groups.

Antisemitism in health-care education and practice has risen sharply since Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attack, affecting Jewish medical professionals in Canada as well as the U.S., U.K. and Australia, according to a narrative review published in the Rambam Maimonides Medical Journal last month.

The review brings together existing research from the four countries on antisemitism in health-care professions, including medicine, psychology, nursing, and social work.

On July 30, US President Donald J. Trump announced that his Board of Peace had obtained an agreement for the disarmament of Hamas and of every other armed group in Gaza. When does hate become terrorism? Answer: when it is orchestrated, repeatedly, to sow fear, cause chaos, and undermine society. One hateful act can be the work of a vengeful madman; a series of hateful acts, against the same community, conducted in a similar manner, constitute terrorism.
