Kavita Algu, a former palliative care doctor at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital, recently quit after a workplace investigator found her to be disruptive and unprofessional, which the Toronto Star would like you to believe is some kind of injustice. Judging from the Star’s own “investigation” and Algu’s activism, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

According to the Star’s investigation, Algu “was never told specifically what she did wrong.” She was just a physician who engaged in Palestinian advocacy and “ultimately felt she had no choice but to leave a career she had spent years building.”

A national survey of Jewish post-secondary students has found that antisemitism at Canadian universities is not an isolated problem but a pervasive feature of campus life, with the overwhelming majority reporting they have experienced or witnessed it in the past year.

The Campus Antisemitism and Student Experiences (CASE) report, commissioned by the federal government and produced by the Association for Canadian Studies and the Metropolis Institute, surveyed roughly 900 Jewish postsecondary students. It found that 95.7 percent had experienced or witnessed at least one antisemitic incident in the previous year, and that 84 percent said antisemitism is now a serious problem on their campus.

A recent report that US President Donald J. Trump’s Board of Peace is considering paying Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip thousands of dollars in exchange for surrendering their rifles should alarm anyone who genuinely seeks peace and security in the Middle East.

If true, the proposal represents a dangerous retreat from the original objective of Trump’s September 2025 peace plan: the complete demilitarization of the Gaza Strip and the unconditional disarmament of Hamas and other terrorist groups.

Antisemitism in health-care education and practice has risen sharply since Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attack, affecting Jewish medical professionals in Canada as well as the U.S., U.K. and Australia, according to a narrative review published in the Rambam Maimonides Medical Journal last month.

The review brings together existing research from the four countries on antisemitism in health-care professions, including medicine, psychology, nursing, and social work.

On July 30, US President Donald J. Trump announced that his Board of Peace had obtained an agreement for the disarmament of Hamas and of every other armed group in Gaza. The 15-point roadmap published the following morning promised the transfer of government to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), an International Stabilization Force (ISF), an International Verification Committee, and a phased Israeli withdrawal from Gaza tied to certified progress.

When does hate become terrorism? Answer: when it is orchestrated, repeatedly, to sow fear, cause chaos, and undermine society. One hateful act can be the work of a vengeful madman; a series of hateful acts, against the same community, conducted in a similar manner, constitute terrorism.

That is what Jews in Canada face today. Since October 7, 2023, B’nai Brith Canada has documented nearly 5,800 total incidents in 2023 and a record 6,800 incidents throughout 2025. By today’s stats, that’s one hate crime for every 487 Jewish residents. Jews are 22 times more likely to be the victim of a hate crime than non-Jewish Canadians

Each attack is treated as an inexplicable eruption of generic “hate,” disconnected from the movement that has spent nearly three years supplying the language, targets and moral permissions surrounding it.”

Our “leaders” know perfectly well how to confront it.

But don’t expect remigration. They have chosen a side and it isn’t yours.

Montreal — There is a debilitating temptation within the Jewish community today to assume that every crime involving a Jewish institution must automatically be an act of antisemitism.

The temptation is understandable. After almost two years of escalating hatred, firebombings, shootings, vandalism, intimidation and open calls for violence against Jews, no one can be faulted for being alert. Vigilance is not only justified — it is necessary.

Kavita Algu wasn’t the most experienced public speaker, but she felt she had clarity as she looked down at her notes one last time. She had the day off work and had joined a rally in protest of

Israel’s bombing of hospitals in Gaza that had killed patients and staff alike.

As a doctor, she felt obligated to speak out about the destruction of a health-care system.

These ghouls won’t even leave the dying alone.
