And yet the ‘Ceasefire now’ lobby is eerily schtum. The people who’ve been noisily clamouring for an end to the war in Gaza are either mute or they’re moaning. Don’t trust that snake Benjamin Netanyahu, some say. If I thought a genocide was being executed in Gaza, a crime as cataclysmic as anything the Nazis did, I’d be on the streets celebrating this morning. Yet these people can barely be arsed to put a thumbs-up on Instagram.

How serious is US President Donald J. Trump about his peace plan? While everyone is eager to celebrate the successful completion of Phase One, with the return of the Israeli hostages in exchange for 2,000 imprisoned Palestinian terrorists, the rest remains to be seen.

The Trump Peace Plan began as an ultimatum: If Hamas would not release all the hostages within 72 hours, Israel would have the blessing of the US to “finish the job” full blast.

On October 7, 2023, an orgy of slaughter and sexual violence was unleashed on Israeli civilians. It was a measured, premeditated pogrom, broadcast with grotesque pride. The world watched as terrorists streamed their atrocities across social media, turning murder and rape into a live propaganda show.

That day was not merely another episode in the long, tragic history of the Arab-Israeli conflict. It was an operational and moral rupture, a mass atrocity whose reverberations continue to shatter families. The event also exposes an international discourse in which moral clarity too often gives way to equivocation.

It’s all a lie.

The Oct 7 massacres were not carried out to create a ‘Palestinian’ state, to break out of an ‘open air prison’ in Gaza or any of the lies the media has systemically deluged us with.

They did it to capture Jerusalem.

It is now difficult to see how the Gaza war, as we have known it for the last two years, will not be ended soon. As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has famously said, it will end “either the easy way or the hard way” but it will end.

This choice resides with the beleaguered and shell-shocked Hamas leadership, such of it as survives. The distinction is between escaping with their lives but militarily defeated, and in terms of political influence, torn out of Gaza root and branch, or being killed in hopeless combat in their tunnels in central Gaza city where they are constantly reminded of the presence of 60,000 battle-hardened Israeli counter-urban guerrilla soldiers overhead.

A rocket has been fired from Gaza into an Israeli town that was raided by Hamas terrorists on Oct 7 two years ago to the day.

The projectile struck close to Netiv HaAsara, a small farming community on Gaza’s northern border, on Tuesday morning, the Israeli military said. Nobody was injured during the attack, it added.

Hamas demands release of Oct 7 attackers in exchange for hostages

Hamas has demanded the release of captured terrorists who took part in the October 7 massacre, sources have said.

The terror group has reportedly requested that “Nukhba fighters”, the elite special forces unit who led the massacre, be added to the list of currently imprisoned Palestinians slated for release in exchange for the Israeli hostages.

Negotiators from Hamas, the Israeli government and the United States today arrived in Cairo to thrash out the final details of a peace plan. After many false dawns, an agreement here could bring two years of bloodshed to an end.

According to reports in Israel, a breakthrough came when Trump realised that his one-man fixer Steve Witkoff was out of his depth, and added Jared Kushner to the negotiating team. It might be surprising that Kushner, whose great success in life is marrying Ivanka Trump, could have made the difference in such an intractable situation. Yet he has a greater familiarity with Benjamin Netanyahu, not to mention longstanding business contacts in the Arab world.

Yesterday was the day fixed by President Trump by which Hamas had to accept his plan to bring an end to the unpleasantness in Gaza… or else!

Any attempt to portray Hamas’s purported acceptance of US President Donald J. Trump’s proposal to end the war in the Gaza Strip as a sign that either the Palestinian Authority (PA) or the Iran-backed Palestinian terror group is now interested in peace with Israel is misleading and baseless.

Both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority are not, and never were, interested in peace with Israel. The only peace they envision is one that would see Israel eliminated and replaced with an Islamist state, preferably, each with itself as the head.
