While the slaying of some 1,400 Jews by Hamas is a major tragedy in and of itself, other important facets of the story merit attention. For example, a Harris poll taken after the massacre reveals that 51% of American 18-24-year-olds think the murder of innocent Jewish men, women, and babies was justified, and much of this Jew hatred can be attributed to our nation’s schools.

Can we criticise Greta Thunberg now? For a time, anyone who raised even the mildest objection to the pint-sized prophetess of doom risked being damned as a bully. Surely this moratorium on Greta-scepticism will end following her platforming – to use woke lingo – of an activist with very iffy views. An activist who has trivialised the Holocaust and seems pretty chilled about Hamas’s pogrom of 7 October. Calling out Greta for her fact-lite blather about the planet being ‘on fire’ may have been forbidden – pulling her up for hanging out with Holocaust relativists must not be.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called on Palestinians to “voluntarily emigrate” to Western countries on Tuesday in response to an op-ed by Likud MK Danny Danon and Yesh Atid MK Ram Ben Barak that was published in the Wall Street Journal and called on Western countries to accept Gazan refugees.
“I welcome the initiative of voluntary relocation of Gazan Arabs to countries worldwide,” Smotrich wrote. “This is the right humanitarian solution for the residents of Gaza and the whole area after 75 years of being poor refugees. The majority of Gaza is fourth and fifth generations to 1948 refugees who, instead of being rehabilitated long ago like hundreds of millions of refugees around the world, were held hostage in Gaza in poverty and overcrowding and were a symbol of the desire to destroy the State of Israel and of the refugees’ return to Jaffa, Haifa, Acre, and Tiberias.”
He went on to say this has bred the hatred for Israel and Jews “upon which the population in Gaza is raised and educated” and led them to believe that the only solution is the destruction of Israel.
In a part of the world that has long defied peacemakers, they are questions that bring deep furrows to diplomats’ brows. If Israel clears Hamas from the Gaza Strip, what kind of government will replace it? Will it be accepted by the 2.5 million Gazans who live there – and who will be its muscle if Hamas strikes back?

Trudeau says the world is witnessing the killing of women, children and babies, and that this must stop.
Israel declared war against Hamas after its militants killed 1,200 people on Oct. 7, including hundreds of civilians, and took about 240 people hostage.

On the same day that thousands of rockets rained down on innocent Israeli citizens, photos and videos emerged of people dancing in the street. This time, those images were not broadcast from Middle Eastern cities but instead filmed right here in the United States.
The examples are well-known. A man in Boston holds up a phone showing a beheaded baby and makes an obscene hand gesture to the camera, recording his laughter. A hijab-wearing woman at a Democratic Socialists of America rally says she’s glad for the Hamas attack and does not consider herself an American. Students in Cooper Union lead a pro-Palestinian rally brandishing anti-Zionist posters, shouting anti-Semitic slogans, and terrifying Jewish students barricaded in the library as anti-Israel protestors bang on the doors.

Israel is deliberately using “disproportionate force” in Gaza and targeting “civilian infrastructure” in an effort to limit its own losses and showcase its “military force,” according to a confidential memo from the Dutch Embassy in Tel Aviv.
The memo, drafted by the Dutch defense attaché in the embassy and seen by Dutch outlet NRC, analyzes Israel’s military strategy in Gaza, where Israeli forces have been launching retaliatory airstrikes for over a month straight and conducting a ground invasion, killing more than 11,000 people according to the Hamas-controlled health ministry in Gaza.

Several charged after Scotiabank Giller Prize gala interrupted during televised bash
Toronto police have charged three people accused of interrupting last night’s glitzy Scotiabank Giller Prize ceremony with an anti-Israel protest.
Investigators allege the three people, who range in age from 23 to 25, used forged documents to gain access to the invitation-only literary event at the Four Seasons Hotel.
All three face charges of obstructing property and using forged documents, and are due back in court in January.

Jewish-owned businesses in Montreal are being targeted and vandalized with antisemitic material, with the owners too scared to speak out publicly or complain to the police, the Montreal Gazette has learned.
Lists of such businesses are being circulated on social media, mostly on TikTok, urging people to boycott restaurants and other establishments that are owned by Jews or that are deemed to be supportive of the Israeli government in its war against Hamas in Gaza. But protesters are not simply boycotting businesses; some are visiting them and vandalizing company property.

The Montreal police have launched an investigation after more than a dozen métro station entrances were covered with posters early Tuesday condemning Canada for being “complicit” in the “genocide” in Gaza.
Montreal police spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier said multiple 911 calls were received around 5 a.m. Tuesday reporting the presence of the posters referring to the Israel-Hamas war at 16 métro stations. She said apart from the messages condemning Canada’s position, the posters also provided links to various websites and referred to planned demonstrations.
TikTok has said that younger generations are simply more likely to be pro-Palestinian than older people as it hit back at claims from US politicians that it is “brainwashing” the youth against Israel.
The video app pointed to polling data showing that millennials in the US are significantly less sympathetic to Israel than their parents. TikTok denied that its algorithm, which chooses what videos people see, is manipulating users.
