The forced resignation of the president of the University of Pennsylvania is a good first step in dealing with a far more pervasive problem in higher education.

The three university presidents who disgraced themselves and their universities by their abysmal testimony before the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce represent a far larger concern.

In recent years, many universities have selected as their presidents woke, progressive cowards who pander to the most extreme and most vocal left-wing students and professors. They are the wrong people, at the wrong time, to be leading American educational institutions.

Wartime Palestinian poll shows surge in Hamas support, close to 90% want US-backed Abbas to resign

… The survey provided insights about Palestinian views of the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas and other Gaza militants on southern Israel, in which about 1,200 people were killed, most of them civilians. Israel’s subsequent war on Hamas has killed more than 18,400 Palestinians, about two-thirds of them women and children, in a sustained bombing campaign and ground offensive in Gaza, now in its third month.

Despite the devastation, 57% of respondents in Gaza and 82% in the West Bank believe Hamas was correct in launching the attack, the poll indicated. A large majority believed Hamas’ claims that it acted to defend a major Islamic shrine in Jerusalem against Jewish extremists and win the release of Palestinian prisoners. Only 10% said they believed Hamas has committed war crimes, with a large majority saying they did not see videos showing the militants committing atrocities.

Trudeau wants to bring thousands of these depraved monsters to Canada.

A group of protesters who staged a rally in support of Palestinians last weekend released video Tuesday of a violent arrest that appears to show an officer kneeling on a man’s neck. But Toronto police say the tactic — something the former chief said cops are not trained to do — wasn’t used.

The Toronto chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), which helped organize the Sunday rally in downtown Toronto, said in a statement that an “attendee was brutalized and arrested” at the event.

Israel’s military has begun pumping seawater into Hamas’s vast complex of tunnels in Gaza, according to U.S. officials briefed on the Israeli military’s operations, part of an intensive effort to destroy the underground infrastructure that has underpinned the group’s operations.

The move to flood the tunnels with water from the Mediterranean, which is in an early stage, is one of several techniques Israel is using to try to clear and destroy the tunnels.

The Liberals must be proud of themselves. They’ve spent the two months since Hamas slaughtered 1,200 Israelis, kicking off the war in Gaza, by ensuring no one thinks they support Israel too much. For example, the government abstained, rather than oppose, a UN motion in October calling for an immediate “truce” between Jerusalem and Hamas.

The US remains a global outlier in its popular support for Israel, but pro-Israel sentiments are declining. Americans continue to side more with Israelis than Palestinians, yet recent data shows that net support for Israelis dropped a full 14 percentage points from October to November amid continued fighting in Gaza.

Seldom has a phrase risen so quickly to such infamy as the expression, “From the river to the sea.” Often paired with “Palestine will be free,” the expression is often heard at pro-Palestinian protests. University campuses are in an uproar over it. Left-wing politicians in Britain and the U.S. have been censured or even suspended by their parties for daring to use it. It is widely held to be an antisemitic call for the destruction of Israel. The fact that it was used in PLO statements in the 1960s, when that organization was officially committed to the destruction of Israel, and more recently in the Hamas charter, lends serious credence to these concerns.

It has been in use for years I doubt that any attempt to criminalize it will succeed.

Grzegorz Braun, an antisemitic lawmaker from the right-wing Confederation party, on Tuesday doused the candles in a Hanukkah menorah in the Polish parliament with a fire extinguisher — denouncing the Jewish ritual as “Satanic.”

“Racist motives have been attributed to me here, meanwhile, I am just restoring a state of normalcy and balance here, putting an end to acts of Satanic, Talmudist triumphalism, because that is the message of these holidays,” Braun, peppered with white powder from the extinguisher, said in the parliament building.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is joining allies in calling for “efforts towards a sustainable ceasefire” in the Israel-Hamas war — the first time the government of Canada has officially used the word “ceasefire” in relation to the conflict.

Trudeau and the prime ministers of Australia and New Zealand issued a joint statement Tuesday calling for the resumption of the seven-day pause in fighting that ended earlier this month.

“The recent pause in hostilities allowed for the release of more than 100 hostages and supported an increase in humanitarian access to affected civilians,” the statement said.
