Stopping domestic fossil fuel production won’t solve climate change

The energy crisis continues to hit Europe hard. In particular, the German economy is still reeling after losing its access to cheap Russian gas.

However, it’s not just Vladimir Putin’s war that’s to blame. A chart posted on X by Daniel Kral shows that a big part of Europe’s problem is self-inflicted. Just 10 years ago the EU (excluding the UK) was producing more than 30% of its demand for natural gas, but since then the figure has slumped to less than 15%. The timing could hardly be worse.

In reality, environmentalists cause natural disasters by blocking sensible policies like forestry management and dams, and then once a disaster, like fire or flooding is underway, they contrive to do what they can to block any kind of relief because they believe in worsening natural disasters to convince people of their cause and give them unlimited power to destroy our lives.

Eco-Asshole Vandalizes Vimy Ridge Memorial

A spokesperson for Veterans Affairs Canada said an employee at the site noticed a person vandalizing a wall at the memorial around 9 p.m. local time Tuesday. The individual fled the scene upon being spotted.

A VAC official told Global News on background that the alleged vandal was “a misguided individual with a cause.”

A source with knowledge of the incident told Global News the graffiti was environmental slogans written in French.

Scottish Government Felling Almost 2,000 Trees per Day To Make The Environment Safe For Wind Turbines

Just under 16 million trees have been cut down on publicly owned Scottish land to make way for wind farms. Conservation campaigners warn that planning regulations for new turbines on wild land are so relaxed they are difficult not to meet.

Mairi Gougeon, the Scottish National Party’s (SNP) Rural Affairs Secretary, last month estimated that 15.7 million trees had been felled since 2000 on land managed by the Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) agency. That equates to more than 1,700 a day.

Protesters who stopped Andy Murray match say they were ‘brutally dragged out, bloodied and bruised’

A climate protest group has claimed its activists were left “bloodied and bruised up” after briefly interrupting Andy Murray’s last-16 clash with top seed Taylor Fritz at the Citi Open in Washington DC on Friday night.

Action was delayed in the first set when three jumbo tennis balls were tossed onto the court in the event’s main stadium, and Fritz later said he found the whole thing “annoying”.

Greta Thunberg pulls out of Edinburgh Book Festival over sponsor

Sponsor not pure enough according to Greta who had planned to walk across the channel to Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh International Book Festival has said it is “standing by its principles” and backed its event sponsor after Greta Thunberg accused them of “greenwashing”.

The climate activist has pulled out of an appearance at the festival later this month in protest over its sponsors Baillie Gifford, an investment firm she claims invests “heavily” in fossil fuels.
