Canada had some of the most draconian COVID restrictions in the world. In January 2022, Canadian truckers had enough. They banded together in a massive convoy headed for Ottawa. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded with a brutal crackdown, arresting many and, even worse, working with banks to impoverish the truckers and their supporters. And that’s where most of us thought it ended—with defeated truckers. Now, though, a Twitterer has written a post explaining that the convoy was wildly successful, news that Canada’s (and the world’s) media stifled.

Canadian police officer ordered to do unpaid work for donating to Freedom Convoy will appeal ruling

Constable Michael Brisco of the Windsor Police Service, who last week was told by an adjudicator he must work 80 unpaid hours as punishment for giving $50 to the Freedom Convoy, will be appealing his charge of “discreditable conduct.”

As noted in a press release yesterday by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), Brisco’s appeal will be made directly to the Ontario Civilian Police Commission.

IRS worked overtime to probe Twitter Files journalist Matt Taibbi

The IRS really must have wanted to investigate Matt Taibbi, the Twitter Files journalist.

Records produced to Congress show that the tax agency opened an examination of Mr. Taibbi’s 2018 return last Christmas Eve, according to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan.

The records also show that Mr. Taibbi was able to resolve the tax issue quickly, did not owe the IRS anything and in fact was due a “substantial refund,” Mr. Jordan said Wednesday in a new letter demanding answers from the IRS.

Convoy organizer faces additional charge over TikTok video advising horn blowing

Crown prosecutors have laid an additional criminal charge against “Freedom Convoy” organizer Chris Barber, alleging that he encouraged truckers to disobey a court order during the Ottawa protest in early 2022.

The Saskatchewan truck driver and his co-accused, Tamara Lich, also face another six counts of other charges related to the protest, including mischief, counselling intimidation, counselling obstruction of police, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

The FBI uses a “glossary of terms” to look for online that could indicate someone is involved with “violent extremism,” according to documents obtained by The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project.

The flagged terms include “redpilled,” first popularized by the 1999 film “The Matrix,” “based,” “looksmaxxing,” and the names “Chad” and “Stacey.”

The FBI also flags phrases that include “it’s over” and “just be first.”
