This teen stabbed an 83-year-old grandmother to death. A psychologist says there were warning signs at Durham school

Three days before a teenage boy murdered Eleanor Doney in her front yard, a student at his Pickering school overheard him talking to other kids about his interest in serial killers.

He said he wondered what it would feel like to kill an eight-year-old.

Confronted by the school’s principal, the 14-year-old boy didn’t deny it. In response, the principal had him do a reading on the impact words can have and write a reflection.

CIA officer who had millions in gold bars accused of creating fake spy program

CIA officer who had millions in gold bars accused of creating fake spy program

The former senior CIA official found with more than $40 million worth of gold bars in his house allegedly created a fake, highly classified intelligence program that he used as a conduit to funnel millions of dollars for his personal use, according to people familiar with the criminal investigation.

David J. Rush, who was arrested last month and charged with one count of theft of public money, constructed what is known as a “special access program,” a sort of black box for the most secret intelligence operations, the people familiar with the investigation said. Even intelligence personnel with the highest security clearance cannot access an individual SAP, as they are known, without specific authorization.

Rosedale could be ground zero for AI-powered security as rich Liberals come face to face with the diversity they helped import

Rosedale could be ground zero for AI-powered security as rich Liberals come face to face with the diversity they helped import

Drive through the winding, tree-lined streets of Rosedale, and you’ll find yourself admiring the Victorian, Edwardian and Tudor Revival estates.

But what you may not notice, among the manicured lawns and stone gateways, is the growing number of high-tech security measures, some of which could soon be logging licence plates and compiling a “blacklist” of suspicious individuals and vehicles.

Canadian man who allegedly sold lethal chemical will not be tried in UK

Families in the UK say they are angry at the decision by prosecutors not to charge a Canadian man who is alleged to have sold a lethal chemical linked to the deaths of 73 British people.

The father of one of those who died told the BBC that Kenneth Law had caused “devastation” and that he wanted Law to face charges in the UK.

Law, a former chef, is expected to admit 14 counts of assisting suicides in Canada when he appears in court in Ontario later on Friday.

IQ, Crime, Nobel Prizes, And Immigration: The Diversity That Is Destroying Western Civilization

IQ, Crime, Nobel Prizes, And Immigration: The Diversity That Is Destroying Western Civilization

Sometimes data or information that seems completely disconnected can tell a story when taken together. I experienced that recently. Over the course of a few days I saw a number of posts on X that caught my attention. First was a post stating that “Whites make up only 8% of the world’s population… so in fact, we are the minority.” That 8% is down from a peak of approximately 25% in the 19th century.

Toronto police still searching for missing 14-year-old girl

Toronto police still searching for missing 14-year-old girl

It’s now been 10 days since a 14-year-old girl named Esther went missing from Toronto’s north end.

The teen, who is affectionately known as Esti, was last seen shortly after midnight on May 16, near Bathurst Street and Hotspur Road, just south of Highway 401.

She had been seen 30 minutes earlier at North York’s Earl Bales Park, near Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West.

I hope this turns out to a stupid teen doing stupid teen things to irritate her parents.

Toronto cops in Barcelona flashed badge to local police as they were detained in alleged sex assault

BARCELONA—Caught at the scene of the alleged crime — an assault against a woman in Barcelona — off-duty Toronto cops identified themselves as police officers to Spanish law enforcement and flashed a Toronto badge, the Star has learned.

It’s not clear what they hoped for by mentioning their police credentials an ocean away from the territory they are sworn to protect and serve. But on that night, along a seaside strip of swanky night clubs popular with young tourists to this Spanish city, the badge earned them neither leniency nor special treatment.

New York City’s Other Violent Crime Problem

New York City’s Other Violent Crime Problem

Murder is down, but assault is up—a dangerous sign.

New York’s leaders have been rightly celebrating the city’s major reductions in murder and gun violence. But the city still struggles with a different violent crime problem: record-high assault rates. The causes are difficult to parse from the data alone, but the trend bodes poorly for long-term safety and stability.

Start with the good news. The city saw 309 murders last year, according to NYPD’s crime statistics. That’s the lowest figure since 2018, and a 36 percent decrease from the recent peak in 2021. Shootings stand “at their lowest level since consistent records began in 1993,” the New York–focused publication Vital City noted in a recent brief. The city managed at least one shooting-free day per week, on average, last year.

The Left Tried to Destroy Kash Patel. Crime Data Just Vindicated Him.

The FBI released preliminary crime data for 2025, and the numbers are stunning. Violent crime fell at a rate not seen in nearly a century, and the man overseeing the bureau is the same one the left has been trying to torch for months.

Murder and non-negligent manslaughter dropped more than 18% nationwide last year. Aggravated assault fell more than 7%. Rape declined nearly 8%. Robbery cratered by about 18.5%. All told, violent crime dropped about 9.3% overall; there were roughly 1.1 million fewer violent crimes than in 2024.

Whistleblowers say organized crime has infiltrated Canada’s largest airport

Whistleblowers tell CTV News’ investigative unit W5 that organized crime has infiltrated Canada’s largest airport, as they call for sweeping reforms.

It took the horror of Sept. 11 to force airports around the world into a massive security overhaul to guard against terrorism.

Passengers became the focus of intense scrutiny: shoes off, liquids ditched, carry-on luggage scanned, bodies searched.

Pearson sounds worse.

Minnesota Fraud Mastermind Gets Over 40 Year Jail Sentence

We the People are seeing our first serious strike for justice in the massive Minnesota fraud network, with the “Feeding Our Future” fraudster mastermind receiving a sentence of more than four decades in jail.

FBI Director Kash Patel celebrated Aimee Bock’s May 21 sentence of almost 42 years in prison, as Bock was at the center of a fraud case that represented $250 million of taxpayer money lost. Bock ran “Feeding Our Future,” which received lavish amounts of taxpayer money under the claim it was providing millions of meals to needy children during the COVID-19 pandemic, though the whole operation turned out to be a fraud scheme.

Another Walgreens Is Closing in Chicago—Blame Criminals, Not the Company

Another Walgreens Is Closing in Chicago—Blame Criminals, Not the Company

Walgreens is pulling out of Chicago’s South Side, home to some of the city’s most crime-ridden areas. The closure of a store in the city’s Chatham neighborhood, set for June 4, marks the seventh Walgreens location to shut down on the South Side in the past year.

Who’s to blame for this departure? Chicago Alderman William Hall, who represents Chatham as part of Ward 6, blames the company. Walgreens, he said, should be charged with “first-degree corporate abandonment” for creating a “medicine drought,” and he even accused it of committing a “pharmaceutical genocide.” (It’s particularly rich that Hall is now castigating Walgreens for closing, given that he hadn’t been happy about Walgreens opening, alleging it “ran out” small, local businesses.)

Exclusive investigation reveals security gaps and organized crime at Toronto airport: ‘You could walk out carrying a cruise missile’

Exclusive investigation reveals security gaps and organized crime at Toronto airport: ‘You could walk out carrying a cruise missile’

Passengers travelling through Toronto Pearson International Airport face layers of security designed to stop dangerous people and dangerous goods from boarding planes.

Carry-on bags are X-rayed. Water bottles are confiscated. Travellers are scanned, searched and monitored by cameras throughout the terminals.

But exclusive reporting from CTV News’ investigative unit W5 into how organized crime groups exploit airport insiders to move drugs has uncovered troubling gaps in the security systems meant to monitor employees with direct access to restricted areas of Canada’s busiest airport, including luggage and aircraft.

Luggage-tag switching scheme involves flights from Canada to countries where drug smuggling can carry death penalty

CTV News’ investigative unit W5 has found at least 17 innocent passengers on flights originating in Canada were detained on drug smuggling allegations over the past year after their baggage tags were switched onto suitcases filled with drugs.

All were eventually released, but only after some had been handcuffed, arrested and jailed overseas.

W5 compiled the data through court records, news releases and police sources. The cases involved flights from Canada to the Dominican Republic, Paris, Germany, Morocco, Bermuda, the Philippines and Korea, where drug smuggling can carry the death penalty.
