The death toll here is lower than nations with draconian restrictions

A hundred years ago, in New York City, 20,000 people marched down Fifth Avenue in protest against one of the greatest public health policy experiments in history. One of them was wearing a sign featuring an image of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper,” beside the slogan, “Wine was served.” There were posters of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. Another read: “Tyranny in the name of righteousness is the worst of all tyrannies.”

I have never felt so different and “other” as I do now. I am one of the unvaccinated.

Sitting here in the middle of Sydney, where double vax rates approach 90%, with the unvaccinated to be shunned until (if?) we hit 95%, it is easy to feel alone. So, while almost all my friends and acquaintances are “free” under the laws of our oppressive governments, I am not free—although if I am honest, my friends are free to do things I no longer miss, whereas I am truly free.

The help have no faces

Visitors to New York tell me how surprised they are to see so few masked up people on the streets. But a sizable portion of the NYC population isn’t letting go of the disgusting, soggy, disease vectors strapped to their faces — and they never will.

A nationwide strike against vaccine mandates will take place from Nov. 8 to Nov. 11, according to the main organizer for the walkout, Leigh Dundas, a human rights attorney and public speaker.

The event will kick off in Los Angeles on Monday. The locations of the marches have not yet been disclosed.

The walkouts involve people from various industries such as trucking and telecom. Air and rail transport workers are not federally allowed to go on strike due to a law passed in 1926 named the Railway Labor Act, but some plan to protest anonymously.

The vaccine mandates pushed by the federal and provincial governments have divided Canadians, and the way the unvaccinated are berated is “extremely ugly,” a former judge says.

“I would never have thought such a thing could happen in Canada,” said Brian Giesbrecht, who served as a provincial court judge in Manitoba from 1976 to 2007.

“The idea of forcing people to be vaccinated, and then yelling at them if they don’t do what you say, is something that should not occur in a country like Canada.”

When Alberta backtracked on its plans to do away with most COVID-19 restrictions and bring in a vaccine passport system in September, their main rationale was hospital capacity issues.

While their modelling had told them they’d be fine, more people than predicted were being admitted to hospital with COVID-19. Protect the hospitals, they said. That was the guiding principle.
