Canada’s border closure to non-essential travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic — which is continuing until at least Jan. 21 — has sparked confusion and questions about who can and cannot enter.

Mr. Trump, a leading figure within the GOP, told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that the communist regime should be held responsible for its role in helping spread the coronavirus.

“The situation is critical. The explosion of cases is overwhelming,” Health Minister Christian Dubé said at a press briefing. “Our health system is already in crisis.”
Ontario by Wednesday, betcha.

In a shocking new report, British government researchers admit that once an individual has received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, he or she will never again be able to acquire full natural immunity against Covid variants – or possibly any virus.

“We’re in a war,” Fauci said, “It’s kind of like we’re halfway through World War II.”
So is Fauci Goebbels or Mengele?

The insanity of the American and Western world is the great sadness of my old age. It is absolutely clear to me now, with the idiotic and groundless fake panic over “omicron,” which is killing no one, that this is the “crisis” our ruling elites have been waiting for, and they will not let go of it. The disproportion between the enormous and incalculable economic, psychological, educational, cultural, and human damage the COVID measures are causing and the nearly nonexistent benefit they are producing is of no interest to our elites. They know that it is not about health, and they are unreachable by argument and facts addressed to that disproportion.
Ontario opened up appointments for COVID-19 booster shots on Monday morning — and in many regions, they were gone in minutes.
While demand is high for third doses of COVID-19 vaccine, the supply can’t keep up, and experts say we can’t beat the Omicron variant wave through vaccination alone.
“There isn’t time,” said Colin Furness, an infection control epidemiologist and assistant professor at the University of Toronto.
Ontario residents waiting days to get COVID-19 test, resulting in potential discrepancy in reported cases
While some Ontarians spent hours in a virtual queue in hopes of getting their third dose of COVID-19 vaccine, others were on an equally challenging quest to get a COVID-19 test—with some residents reporting being unable to book an appointment for up to five days.
Multiple people have confirmed to CTV News Toronto they have been unable to book a COVID-19 test in Ontario in a timely manner, despite being symptomatic or potentially exposed to the virus through a close contact.
UK doctor reveals telltale nightly symptom of surging Omicron variant
A noted British doctor is highlighting several symptoms that distinguish the Omicron variant from the common cold and even other strains of COVID-19 — including drenching night sweats.
Dr. Amir Khan, a physician with the UK’s National Health Service, described the distinguishing episodes as “those kind of drenching night sweats where you might have to get up and change your clothes,” the Sun reported.
The other telltale symptoms of Omicron are a scratchy throat as opposed to a sore one, a dry cough, extreme fatigue and mild muscle aches

WASHINGTON (AP) — More than 12,000 military service members refusing the COVID-19 vaccine are seeking religious exemptions, and so far they are having zero success.
That total lack of approvals is creating new tensions within the military, even as the vast majority of the armed forces have gotten vaccinated.
The services, urgently trying to keep the coronavirus pandemic in check by getting troops vaccinated, are now besieged with exemption requests they are unlikely to approve. Meanwhile, troops claiming religious reasons for avoiding the shots are perplexed because exemptions are theoretically available, yet seem impossible to obtain.

TORONTO (AP) — Quebec announced Monday that it is closing bars, cinemas, gyms and spas because of a record number of coronavirus cases in the Canadian province. Sporting events will be closed to spectators.
Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé also said restaurants must close by 10 p.m. nightly.
The new measures come on top of last week’s decision to restrict restaurants and bars to 50% capacity.

Last week Vox published a piece which argued we all needed to take a break from capitalism because the world is ending. The author of that piece, Anna North, also described present reality as “the apocalypse.” That seemed a bit overwrought to me but today Freddie deBoer argues it’s just one example of a recent trend. He also points to this recent piece at the Atlantic titled “I’m Starting to Give Up on Post-pandemic Life.”

Davos is dead, again. The glitzy and eagerly awaited World Economic Forum annual meeting scheduled for the Swiss mountain resort on Jan. 17-21 has been shelved for the second year in a row, replaced by a series of online discussions.

LONDON (AP) — Britain’s main nurses’ union warned Monday that exhaustion and surging coronavirus cases among medical staff are pushing them to the breaking point, adding to pressure on the government for new restrictions to curb record numbers of infections driven by the omicron variant.
The warning throws into stark relief the unpalatable choice Prime Minister Boris Johnson faces: wreck holiday plans for millions for a second year running, or face a potential tidal wave of cases and disruption.
Many governments in Europe and the U.S. are confronting similar dilemmas over how hard to come down in the face of omicron, which appears more transmissible than the previous delta variant that itself led to surges in many parts of the world. Early evidence suggests omicron may also produce less serious illness — though scientists caution it is too soon to say — and that it could better evade vaccine protection.

Pfizer Inc. funded presentations to Canadian health professionals earlier this year that claimed rival COVID-19 vaccines could cause cancer and were inappropriate for immunocompromised people, claims that experts say were not true.
Ontario reports 3,784 new cases of COVID-19, no new deaths
Of the confirmed cases today, 746 involve people who are unvaccinated, 119 involve those who are partially immunized, 2,781 involve fully vaccinated people, and 138 involve those with an unknown vaccination status.
Your baggy mask isn’t going to cut it against Omicron, epidemiologist warns
After almost two years of living with a pandemic, you would think we’d all be mask experts by now.
But the COVID-19 landscape is changing rapidly, and the things we thought would protect us are suddenly in need of a serious rethink — including, and perhaps especially, masks.
Those cloth and blue surgical masks so many of us have been wearing? They’re unlikely to cut it against Omicron, says an expert.
Super Immunity! – sorta like Logan’s Run “Renewal” – So why were we forced to wear the crap masks then? Nothing inspires confidence like being lied to.
Lab study suggests those who survive breakthrough COVID-19 infection may have ‘super immunity’
A new study that tested live SARS-CoV-2 against blood samples in a laboratory setting is suggesting that those who survive a breakthrough infection may have some sort of ‘super immunity’ against variants.
The study, which was published Thursday in the Journal of the American Medical Association, focused on how those with breakthrough infections had a subsequent strong immune response against the Delta variant, which researchers believe is an indication that there will be a strong response against other variants as well.
Thank goodness the masks don’t work.
