A Canadian Parliamentarian assessed by national security officials to be part of a Toronto-based Chinese consulate election interference network was the subject of a high-profile foreign interference investigation into an alleged breach of Canada’s Senate, The Bureau has confirmed through multiple intelligence sources.
Sources said the investigation examined allegations that the Parliamentarian enabled a close associate—described as a female Chinese national—to bypass Senate security protocols.
In this federal election, it’s important for Canadians to remember that geography is destiny. Like it or not, Canada is tethered to the United States, and the next prime minister will have to sit down and cut a deal with the protectionist and erratic U.S. President Donald Trump.
Unfortunately, Liberal Leader Mark Carney fails to fully grasp the situation. Despite agreeing to negotiate with Trump after the election, he pronounced the old U.S.-Canada relationship “over,” and made state visits to London and Paris in the apparent belief that the 27 squabbling members of the European Union can replace America as Canada’s economic partner.
China is the enemy the US hopes to defeat.
Given that Carney, the LPC and the China class have chosen to side with the ChiComs I doubt that Trump will offer favourable terms.

OTTAWA — Canadian intelligence reported in 2021 that Beijing planned to interfere in Canada’s next federal election with disinformation suggesting the Conservatives “will follow the path of … Donald Trump”—a narrative now echoed in a clandestine dirty tricks operation exposed inside Prime Minister Mark Carney’s campaign.
The warning comes from a classified CSIS bulletin dated December 20, 2021 and marked Secret, distributed to Canadian departments including Global Affairs Canada, the Privy Council Office, the Communications Security Establishment, and Five Eyes intelligence partners. The report was based on information from Chinese consular officials in Canada.
A Liberal candidate running in a Greater Toronto Area riding, whose candidacy has come under scrutiny for ties to pro-Beijing groups, accepted an invitation from China to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army victory over Japan in the Second World War.
Peter Yuen, who has also been linked to Toronto’s Chinese consulate, joined a group of about 70 Chinese Canadians for the Tiananmen Square celebration in September, 2015.

Liberal Leader Mark Carney says he had never heard of a pro-Beijing lobby group in the Toronto area despite photos on the Jiangsu Commerce Council of Canada’s website showing him with members of its leadership.
He was asked Thursday about Peter Yuen, the Liberal Party candidate for the Ontario riding of Markham-Unionville. Mr. Yuen was appointed to replace Paul Chiang, who stepped down after news broke that he had talked to reporters about how someone could take a Conservative candidate and human-rights advocate to the Chinese consulate to claim a bounty put on him by Hong Kong authorities.

York Regional Police have charged former Toronto lawyer Ping-Teng Tan, who is a fixture at pro-Beijing events in the Toronto area, with fraud and money laundering.
Suspended North York, Ont., lawyer Ping-Teng Tan was charged on March 26 with two counts of fraud over $5,000, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and one count of laundering proceeds of crime, the York Regional Police told The Epoch Times.

That will be an uncontroversial proposition to anyone who draws distinctions between good-faith truth claims and instances of brazenly fabricated hogwash. It should be similarly uncontroversial by now to any reasonable person that U.S. president Donald Trump is either unwilling to draw such distinctions, or he’s congenitally incapable of doing so.

It is sometimes hard to figure out just what it takes for people to realize a crisis is growing in strength. Like the frog who sits in the pot while the water slowly rises in temperature only to take note after it is too late, we appear to be sleepwalking into a major undermining of our democracy.
I refer, of course, to the problem of interference in our electoral process. Despite decades of intelligence by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), at least one report (by former Gov. Gen. David Johnston) and a lengthy inquiry (the Hogue commission), this is generating next to no attention in the current race to determine who will form the next Canadian government.
The only thing surprising about Beijing’s dictators wanting Liberal leader Mark Carney to win the April 28 election is that anyone would be surprised by it.

US President Donald Trump’s latest wave of tariffs has come into force, with imports from China hit by a 104% rate amid an escalating standoff between the world’s two biggest economies.
Tariffs ranging from 11% to 104% now apply to imports from around 60 US trade partners, which Trump has dubbed the “worst offenders” for what he considers unfair trade practices.
China has since hit back by raising import duties on US goods arriving in China to 84%.
