Canadian physician Gordon Guyatt coined the term “evidence-based medicine.” According to the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame, into which he was inducted in 2016, he is one of our country’s “most cited researchers” and “is considered a world authority in the fields of health-related quality of life research, study design, systematic reviews and guideline development.”
A non-binary park ranger was fired by Yosemite National Park after they were caught hanging a transgender pride flag from the park’s famous El Capitan rock formation in May.
Shannon “SJ” Joslin, 35, was first hired as a ranger and wildlife biologist at the park in 2021 — their dream job that they said was stripped away in a violation of their First Amendment right.
These are worrying times for free speech in this country and it is not helped with the persecution of British Columbia nurse Amy Hamm by the province’s College of Nurses and Midwives.
Hamm is the nurse who said sex is binary and also helped pay to put up a sign in Vancouver that declared, “I (heart) J K Rowling.”
It was a frost-bitten day in late January this year. On the Interstate 91 in Vermont, some 15 kilometres from the Canadian border, US border agents pulled over a blue Toyota Prius.
Law enforcement had been tracking the Prius’s two occupants, 21-year-old Teresa ‘Milo’ Youngblut and 26-year-old Felix ‘Ophelia’ Bauckholt for a couple of days. A hotel employee had raised suspicions about the pair after seeing them both wearing black combat clothes and seeing Youngblut carrying a gun. But beyond that, the agents knew little more about them.
DALLAS — Just after dusk on July 5, the crash of wood and metal suddenly reverberated through a predominantly Black and Latino neighborhood here known as The Bottoms. Neighbors peered out to see a small army of men in desert camouflage and tactical vests crouched behind a black armored vehicle, shouting commands toward a brick house.
A SWAT team had smashed through the front door of the residence, which neighbors say was occupied by several transgender women, part of a group of activists who initially united around trans and queer identity issues. Now, the women, dressed in bathrobes and pajamas, were being detained at gunpoint, neighbors said.
“It was weird enough that six or seven White, trans people moved into the neighborhood,” said a neighbor, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of privacy concerns. He rolled a joint and gazed at the plywood-covered front window: “And now the FBI is raiding their house.”
A disciplinary panel has suspended a British Columbia nurse for one month and ordered her to pay over $93,000 in costs related to her public statements about women’s rights and single sex spaces.
British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives announced the penalties against Amy Hamm this week.
Transgenderism is retreating.
In a recent piece in The New York Times, Kinnon R. MacKinnon —“an assistant professor who studies transgender care at York University in Toronto” and identifies as a “trans man”— grudgingly admits that the critics were right and that gender ideology, and especially the medical transition of children, was built on lies.
In this case, Hamilton’s mayor has “directed” that a billboard with a message discussing gender and children be immediately removed.

Russell T Davies, TV writer, famed homosexual and the smuggest of luvvies, has hit out at Donald Trump. Apparently the evil oaf in the White House is trashing gay rights. Apparently, Trump wants gay folk ‘gone, defunded, completely invisible’ and ideally ‘biologically altered to become as straight as him’. The funniest thing about this rant is not its fact-lite delirium but its gall. For everything Davies accuses Trump of doing to gays is actually being done by a movement Davies himself supports – the trans lobby.
Police have escorted two drag queens from a public library where they had been running a storytelling event for children after angry protesters gathered outside.
Drag Queen Story Time at Holywood Arches Library in Belfast featured Lady Portia Di’Monte, known as the ‘North Ireland’s First Lady of Drag’, and Miss Dora Belle.

One Tuesday evening last month in his mother’s house on the Wirral, the recently ex-Harvard philosophy professor Jimmy Doyle took to X to say, at last, what he really thought about the state of free speech in American academia.
In one tweet he wrote: “For unrelated reasons I’ve resigned my position at Harvard. But I haven’t been able to speak frankly with anyone for [about] five years. And it’ll be hard to forget the spectacle of this nation’s intellectual elite enforcing moral auto-lobotomy as a condition of entry to polite society.”
In the weeks surrounding Trump’s inauguration, the left-wing media insisted the administration’s effort to remove trans troops from the military would weaken the force — some outlets fearmongered that up to 15,000 service members would be booted. But numbers recently obtained by journalist Chris Bray from the Department of Defense indicate that only four “transgender servicemembers” have been “removed from the military so far under the new Trump administration policy.”
The Ontario Human Rights Tribunal on July 28 dismissed a complaint by a transgender activist against a beauty pageant company for not being included in the competition.
The complaint was brought in 2019 by Jessica Simpson (born Jonathan Yaniv and going by Jessica Yaniv at the time) against Canada Galaxy Pageants (CGP) after the company asked Simpson for proof of full transition from male to female before being allowed to compete in its beauty pageant.
