Not all athletes are pampered punks like LeBron and Kaepernick.

After a few short seasons of athletes ruining sports from high school games to the professional leagues to the Olympics with performative wokeness, fans are rightfully fed up with having anti-American political statements and “black national anthems” shoved in their faces. Some of the most privileged, celebrated people in America, like petulant blowhard LeBron James and cop-hating communist Colin Kaepernick, have turned events that once united Americans into yet another divisive political battleground in the culture. The result is record-low ratings in every affected sport.

Cornel West is certainly no conservative. But Howard University’s decision to do away with the study of classical literature has him sounding like Victor Davis Hanson.

Working-class people are racist beasts in the minds of the new elites.

Not for the first time, the government is being accused of engaging in racist ‘dog whistle’ politics. And also not for the first time, the charge is complete nonsense and reveals far more about the fetid imaginations of the government’s critics than it does about the government itself.

Tearing down our country is their reason for existing.

The authoritarian Left hate America, or at least America in its current form. This is not an opinion, nor is it merely an observation. This is not an attempt at hyperbole or sensationalism, nor is it some “vast right-wing conspiracy,” as Hillary Clinton might call it.

James Carville said on Tuesday night that Democrats pay a hefty political price for the actions of 15% of the Democratic Party.

“We did lose traction with Black voters and Hispanic voters,” the political strategist told Chris Cuomo about the 2020 election. “And I think part of that is that we got identified by the ‘defund the police’ and the language police.”

It is much larger than 15%.

“What happened to you?”

It’s a question I get a lot on Twitter. “When did you become so far right?” “Why have you become a white supremacist, transphobic, misogynistic eugenicist?” Or, of course: “See! I told you who he really was! Just take the hood off, Sully!” It’s trolling, mainly. And it’s a weapon for some in the elite to wield against others in the kind of emotional blackmail spiral that was first pioneered on elite college campuses. But it’s worth answering, a year after I was booted from New York Magazine for my unacceptable politics. Because it seems to me that the dynamic should really be the other way round.

The real question is: what happened to you?

On June 29 Ohio state representative Jena Powell attempted to speak on the floor of the Ohio House of Representatives in favor of an amendment to Ohio’s Senate Bill 187 that allows college athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness. Powell spoke in favor of an amendment to that bill, which would ban males from competing in women’s sports — the Save the Women’s Sports Act. This issue, if common sense were to prevail, would be a no-brainer. There are only two sexes, and everyone not deleteriously woke knows that. Men on average are stronger and have more muscle mass, lung capacity, and endurance. Women cannot best men in any physical competition between conditioned athletes.
