CINCINNATI — A man has been taken into custody by Cincinnati police after officers and Secret Service agents responded to the Cincinnati home of Vice President JD Vance overnight.

According to an arrest report obtained by WLWT, William DeFoor, 26, has been arrested in connection to the damage done at the home.

A Utah judge ordered a secret hearing be made public in the criminal case against Tyler Robinson for allegedly assassinating conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk.

Judge Tony Graf announced during a roughly 20-minute hearing held over video that a transcript for an Oct. 24 closed-door hearing in Robinson’s case will be released with certain redactions by the end of the day Monday. He will also be releasing the audio of that hearing but said it could take two weeks for that to be made public.

DC pipe-bomb suspect Brian Cole Jr. told authorities he wanted to “speak up” for people who believed the 2020 election was stolen and target the country’s political parties for being “in charge” after his arrest earlier this month, prosecutors said Sunday.

Cole, 30, told agents that “something just snapped” in him before he allegedly placed two pipe bombs by the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters on the eve of the Jan. 6 riots, according to a newly filed Justice Department memo.

It is a sign of the degraded state of our public debate that, in 2025, that question became a live issue. Many on the left sought to justify, and even celebrated, the assassination of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk in September, shot dead while defending free speech at Utah Valley University.

It was the morning of Sept. 10. Robinson had guessed the answer — “pouty” — on his third attempt. He sent his results and a celebratory meme to a friend, who responded with a meme of his own and conceded that it had taken him five tries.

By then, according to prosecutors, Robinson had already driven three hours from his home in southern Utah with a high-powered rifle. He was about to make his way onto the campus of Utah Valley University, where Kirk was set to speak to a crowd outdoors.

Tyler Robinson successfully completed a Wordle puzzle on September 10, the same day he allegedly killed Kirk, a friend told the Washington Post.

Wordle is popular daily puzzle game in which users try to guess a five-letter word in six attempts or less.

The man accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk at a Utah campus in September has made his first in-person court appearance, as a judge deliberated on the extent of media access to the high-profile case.

Attorneys for Tyler Robinson, 22, and the Utah County Sheriff’s Office had asked the judge to ban cameras in court out of concern that news coverage could prejudice a fair trial.

Kirk’s widow and a coalition of national and local news organisations pushed for transparency and a judge agreed on Thursday to allow cameras in court.
