Washington Post’s Wemple Demands that CNN Retract Claim Steele Dossier Was Corroborated

Remember when Christopher Steele’s dossier supposedly incriminating President Donald Trump was treated as almost infallible holy writ by much of the mainstream media, especially CNN? Well, now that the primary source of that dossier has been indicted for lying to the FBI, where are the corrections to the record by those same media outlets?

The great Pacific garbage patch twice the size of Texas is fake

“A huge, swirling pile of trash in the Pacific Ocean is growing faster than expected and is now three times the size of France. According to a three-year study published in Scientific Reports Friday, the mass known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is about 1.6 million square kilometers in size – up to 16 times bigger than previous estimates. That makes it more than double the size of Texas.” CNN – March 23, 2018.

Of all the fabricated narratives about the environment, this one takes the cake. Yes, there is plastic in the oceans, mostly discarded fishing gear, but there is no island of plastic waste twice the size of Texas in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Because the average person cannot see the middle of the Pacific for themselves sensationalist activists, media, and politicians just make this up. In fact, plastic in the oceans is doing far more good than harm. Allow me to explain this bold assertion.

Is Congress about to say “the unthinkable” in its UAP investigations?

We recently discussed the rather remarkable language contained in a proposed amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) submitted by New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D) and Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Jack Reed. In the amendment, instructions are given regarding the future collection of data regarding reported sightings of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs, or UFOs for all of you old school folks) as well as the establishment of a permanent office to handle these matters. The Anomaly Surveillance and Resolution Office (ASRO) would coordinate the work of military branches, intelligence agencies and even civilian, scientific resources in this regard.

Why The Left Always Projects

The slurs and smears levelled by the elites are all the more toxic because they have always known these sins firsthand as their own.

The Left is addicted to projection—the psycho-political syndrome of attributing all of one’s own sins to one’s opponents. The woke apparently do this out of some Freudian effort to square the circle of their own guilt or sense of privilege, by fobbing off their own fearful realities onto others. It is the atheist version of confession or medieval penance. In addition, in the spirit of “always being on the offense,” wokists know that those who slander do so most successfully when they lodge exactly those charges most familiar and applicable to themselves.

Inside Austria’s lockdown for the unvaccinated

I’m in Vienna on day one of the world’s first lockdown for only the unvaccinated.

At first glance it seems like an ordinary, if rather grey, November day — perhaps with slightly fewer people out and about than you might expect. Medical-grade masks are much in evidence, and there are queues outside all the testing centres (a negative test is an accepted alternative to vaccination).

But this is no ordinary day.

The Military in Decay?

The Military in Decay?

Facing Some Hard Truths Twenty years after 9/11, is its leadership about anything more than Washington’s revolving door and huge contracts?

When USMC Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller first got news that an explosion had rocked one of the gates at the Kabul airport on Aug. 26, killing 13 U.S. service members and 169 Afghan civilians, he decided to post a YouTube video with his reaction — knowing it could kill his 17-year career and current post as a Marine advanced infantry battalion commander.

“I’m making this video because I have a growing disconnect and contempt for perceived ineptitude at the policy level,” said Scheller, donned in his Marine fatigues and looking a bit shell shocked.  “The reason people are so upset right now … they are upset that senior leaders let them down and no one is raising their hands and saying we messed this up.”

Is the Russia collusion hoax about to be exposed?

John Durham has indicted three people but he may break our hearts yet

“… So far, anyway (and this brings me to the heartbreaking part of the narrative) all of Durham’s three indictments suggest that, as McCarthy puts it, “the FBI was duped, not that the bureau intentionally lied to the court.” That’s not what I want to hear, nor is it what I think is true. That is, I think that the FBI is an institution that is out of control. I believe it has become thoroughly politicized and is in effect a tool of the Democratic establishment. The fact that the Biden administration just turned it loose on Project Veritas because the group may have had Ashley’s Biden diary is only the latest example of its weaponization as a sort of geheime Staatspolizei. Why is the FBI involved in recovering a private document of no national security import? In my view, the FBI does not need to be reformed. It needs to be dismantled and replaced.”

A little nugget of diversity….

Kevin Donovan’s car was stolen from his driveway in Toronto. It was tracked to a Halifax port, bound for the Middle East

“… Roughly 80,000 cars are stolen in Canada each year — 25,000 of those in Ontario, with most of those from the GTA. It’s a growing number due to the pandemic, with supply chain issues reducing the number of new cars for sale or lease.

Police and insurance investigators told me this theft was likely carried out by a web of local and international car-theft rings with connections to the Middle East and terrorism. They told me the Toyota, like most cars stolen by these rings, would never be seen again.”

Viva diversity.

Why Palestinians Are Fleeing the Gaza Strip

A tragedy that recently hit the Gaza Strip has again exposed the extent of the suffering of Palestinians under the rule of the Iranian-backed group, Hamas.

The tragedy also serves as a reminder of the double standards of the international community in dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, especially the obsession with Israel and the tendency to ignore any wrongdoing on the Palestinian side.

According to reports from the Gaza Strip, at least three Palestinians who fled the Hamas-controlled coastal enclave went missing, apparently after their boat capsized off the shores of Greece and Turkey. The three were among dozens of Palestinians seeking a better life away from the repression and corruption of Hamas.

Kyle Rittenhouse’s defense claims Assistant DA Thomas Binger ‘LIED to the jury’s faces’ in closing arguments when he said the Kenosha gunman provoked the shooting that left two dead

Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger ‘lied to the jury’s faces’ in his closing statement when he said that Kyle Rittenhouse provoked the situation that saw him shoot two men dead and injure a third on August 25, 2020.

This was the startling opening to defense attorney Mark Richards’ closing statements when he stood to address the court Monday afternoon.

Speaking with a furious energy he said, ‘This case is not a game. It’s my client’s life. We don’t play fast and loose with the facts, pretending that Mr. Rosenbaum was citizen A, number one guy.

Floodwaters force evacuation of entire city of Merritt, B.C.

VANCOUVER – The intense storm bombarding British Columbia has forced officials to evacuate the entire City of Merritt, where floodwaters have “inundated” bridges and left the local sewage treatment plant inoperable.

Some homes were evacuated overnight as unrelenting rain drenched much of the province, causing flooding, mudslides, rockslides and widespread highway closures between the Lower Mainland and Southern Interior.

‘Death Is Becoming an Industry’: Euthanasia Opponents Bemoan Rise in Medically Assisted Deaths in Canada

Recently released statistics and anecdotal accounts have caused anti-euthanasia activists increased concern, as they believe medically assisted death is not only permitted, but encouraged.

Medically assisted deaths in Quebec rose to 2,426 in the year ending March 31, an increase of 37 percent over the year before, and represented 3.3 percent of all deaths. The statistics were made public by the province’s commission on end-of-life care, which submitted its report to the Quebec parliament on Oct. 20.

Heels Up Harris sidelined amid growing tensions with Biden, insiders say

Vice President Kamala Harris feels increasingly isolated inside the White House as her approval ratings plummet — with the first female veep believing she’s not getting the same support given to other members of the Biden administration, according to a detailed new report.

Despite their public show of unity, Biden and his right-hand woman have a dysfunctional relationship that has reached an “exhausted stalemate,” according to CNN, which based its report on interviews with nearly three dozen insiders.
