There are growing concerns from Iranian-Canadians who say they are being threatened, monitored and even followed at protests and outside their homes by affiliates of the Iranian regime who are here in Canada.

“They know the view out of my apartment. They said it was a school. That I have three cats. They knew the friends that have come to my house,” said Maryam Shafipour, an Iranian activist who now lives in Canada and who is speaking out against the regime despite the dangers.

Disgraced former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried financially backed half a dozen media outlets including ProPublica, Vox and the Intercept, it has emerged.

SBF’s crypto exchange sensationally collapsed earlier this month, after the company filed for bankruptcy amid reports it owes billions of dollars to customers.

But the repercussions could be even more far-reaching, with one media outlet warning it has a ‘significant hole’ in its budget now FTX has folded.

‘Indefensible’ that Toronto’s drug decriminalization request hasn’t been granted yet, advocate says

OTTAWA—Toronto’s request to decriminalize possession of drugs remains on hold almost a year after it was made, in part because of “political cowardice” in Ottawa, a harm-reduction advocate says.

“People are dying because the drug supply is contaminated and it’s toxic. Criminalizing people for simple personal possession and use of drugs is going to do more harm than good,” said Daniel Werb, director at the Toronto-based Centre on Drug Policy Evaluation, which helped the city with its request to the federal government.

The trial of a Montrealer accused of hate speech resumed at the Montreal courthouse Friday with the accused’s lawyer continuing her argument that the court was presented with no evidence Nazis were entirely responsible for the Holocaust.

The trial of Gabriel Sohier Chaput, 36, was put on hold in July after defence lawyer Hélène Poussard argued the court was provided no evidence Nazis were responsible for the extermination of 6 million Jews during the Second World War.

Hundreds of supporters of black supremacy and NBA star Kyrie Irving marched through the streets of Brooklyn on Sunday chanting: ‘We are the real Jews’ and ‘Time to wake up.’

In one video obtained by DailyMail.com, the Black Hebrew Israelites, specifically the groups’ Members of Israel United in Christ sect, can be heard chanting in unison: ‘It’s time to wake up. I’ve got good news for you, we are the real Jews.’

The black supremacists have become emboldened in recent weeks after both Irving, who has previously said he believes the earth is flat and pushed unfounded conspiracy theories around Covid-19, as well as music superstar Kanye West brought their anti-Semitic talking points into the mainstream.

Veterans Affairs assisted dying probe finds 2 more cases, RCMP contacted: minister

Two more instances of a Veterans Affairs Canada employee discussing medical assistance in dying with a veteran have been discovered during an ongoing investigation into the department, the minister responsible told lawmakers Thursday.

Veterans Affairs Minister Lawrence MacAulay told the House of Commons standing committee on veterans affairs this brings the total number of cases involving a single VAC service agent to four, and that the RCMP has been contacted.

I am old enough to remember the Apollo Project. One of the things I recall, besides Saturday morning cartoons being interrupted by shots of the astronauts, was the return of Apollo 11. The astronauts were placed in quarantine because no one was entirely sure that they had not picked up any strange things while being exposed to the moon dust on their suits and tools. In retrospect, it may have been the first time we publicly acknowledged the potential risks of even minuscule life in outer space.
