Toronto updates decriminalization request to Health Canada, asks to exempt all drugs, include youth

Toronto has updated its 14-month-old decriminalization request to the federal government, clarifying it wants a Health Canada exemption to cover young people as well as adults, and all drugs for personal use.

The city’s updated submission to its initial January 2022 request asks the federal agency to go further than the exemption it recently granted to British Columbia under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

At least 2 dead, 9 missing after chocolate factory explodes in Pennsylvania

At least two people were killed and nine are missing after a massive explosion at a Pennsylvania chocolate factory on Friday, officials said.

A violent blast at the RM Palmer Company plant rocked the town of West Reading shortly before 5 p.m., local officials said.

At least eight people were hospitalized for medical attention.

Tyeastia Green alleges the City had a ‘toxic work culture’ and claims she was made to work in an office where she could hear nearby jail inmates crying through the walls.

She has also accused several senior black officials – including President Andrea Jenkins and member LaTrisha Vetaw – of being ‘anti-black.’

SYDNEY/LOS ANGELES, March 24 (Reuters) – Transgender athletes have condemned World Athletics’ exclusion of transgender women from elite female competitions, while the decision was welcomed by some sportswomen as a win for fairness.

Athletics’ global governing body on Thursday voted to ban transgender women who have gone through male puberty from competing in women’s events, citing a “need to protect the female category”.

Canada expected to accept 15,000 more illegal alien benefit shoppers in U.S. deal to end irregular cross-border migration

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to finalize a landmark deal with President Joe Biden in Ottawa on Friday, which would close a loophole in the Safe Third Country Agreement and see Canada accept thousands more Central American migrants through legal pathways.

AOC cries ‘fascism’ as Republicans advance parents bill of rights

House Democrats took to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives Thursday to denounce a GOP bill on parental rights, saying the bill was fascist and would lead to book bans.

In a series of floor speeches on Thursday afternoon, House Democrats accused their Republican colleagues of wanting to ban books and prevent children from learning about the holocaust and gay and transgender issues as the House began a heated floor debate on HR 5, the Parents Bill of Rights.
