WTF?

Some Western governments, in particular the U.S. administration, have a bizarre way of sanctioning Russian President Vladimir Putin’s staunchest allies: by flooding them with rewards. Take, for instance, Putin’s not-so-secret Trojan Horse in NATO, Turkey.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan tirelessly struggles to harm Western interests. He should be punished and sanctioned for doing that. Instead, the UN, under U.S. direction, rewarded Turkey by appointing a close Erdoğan confidant to a critical Afghan post, and the Biden administration rewarded Erdoğan by requesting Congressional authorization to sell critical fighter jet parts to Turkey.

The manic Manhattan college professor who threatened a Post reporter with a machete has been fired, the school said Tuesday — as it emerged she is suing the NYPD for allegedly abusing her during the 2020 George Floyd protests.

Shellyne Rodriguez was sacked by Hunter College just hours after the adjunct professor was caught on camera holding the blade to the veteran reporter’s neck while threatening to “chop” him up outside her Bronx apartment.

Target has contracted with Abprallen — a clothing brand that sells Satanist merchandise, some of which glorifies violence — to create products for its “PRIDE” collection.

While Target does not sell Abprallen’s Satanist-inspired products, the retail giant approached Abprallen less than a year ago to design pride-related merchandise, according to the brand’s social-media post.

Florida Republicans are leading the backlash against the NAACP’s travel advisory warning black Americans not to visit their state, despite the fact the civil rights group’s own chairman lives there.

What even is satire anymore? At some point, reality will become so absurd that it will render satire an anachronistic relic of the before-times, when some semblance of societal sanity made satire possible.

The city will explore a voluntary registry for Hamilton residents — and councillors — who want to host people who are homeless.

Cornwall Council apologised after a member of the public complained that one of its buildings was lit up “like a Christmas tree” during an energy crisis.
