Justin Trudeau’s Liberals are testing Pierre Poilievre attack ads, as prime minister insists he’s not stepping down

OTTAWA—Justin Trudeau’s Liberal party is testing a group of digital ads and is producing a series of broadcast advertising, including negative ads targeting his Conservative rival, as the Liberal leader insists he is staying on to lead the party into the next election.

The digital ads, in English and French, were produced over the past two weeks, while the broadcast ads are in production, with the aim being not just to highlight the government’s work and themes, but to paint the contrast with Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, said a party source with knowledge of the campaign in the works, who spoke on a background-only basis.

But Kunce’s decision to fire AR-15s at steel targets about ten yards away, his co-hort Adam Kinzinger’s decision to use an optic but no eye protection, the lack of a visible backstop behind the targets, and the presence of containers of Tannerite on the shooting bench the Democrats were using aren’t the only troubling details about the photo op.

FBI investigating as ballot boxes go up in flames in Vancouver, Washington

Ballot boxes in Washington State and Oregon were set alight by the same culprit damaging hundreds of votes, the FBI believes.

Footage of the blaze in Vancouver, Washington shows smoke billowing from a red drop box as a uniformed officer scrapes at the smouldering remains of voter slips.

Hundreds of ballots appeared to be reduced to ashes and local media reported that only a handful were saved.

Che Guevara died 57 years ago this month and yet, even now, he remains the epitome of revolutionary cool. You never know when he is going to pop up. I came across him recently in the lobby of a hotel in Kandy in the highlands of Sri Lanka. There he was with that determined, heroic look under a dashing beret with a red star badge. He was on a poster dominating the wall above the capitalist till where the luxury hotel took payment.

B.C. NDP hangs on to power, will form next government, CBC News projects

David Eby’s British Columbia NDP appears to have fended off the John Rustad Conservative surge by a razor-thin margin to form the next provincial government, CBC News projects.

Whether the party forms a minority or majority government is still uncertain.

Currently, the NDP has been elected in 46 ridings and is leading in one, with the Conservatives elected in 43 and leading in one. The B.C. Greens have been elected in two ridings.

Nawaz pounced on Trump’s long pause for music appreciation during a campaign appearance, after two medical emergencies in the crowd had halted proceedings, and another rambling anecdote involving a battery, a sinking boat, and a shark.

India’s plans to punish spitting in food spark controversy

This month, two states ruled by India’s governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced plans to impose hefty fines and imprisonment for contaminating food with spit, urine and dirt.

The northern state of Uttarakhand will fine offenders up to 100,000 rupees ($1,190; £920), while neighbouring Uttar Pradesh is set to introduce stringent laws to address the issue.

The government directives followed the circulation of unverified videos on social media showing vendors spitting on food at local stalls and restaurants – and one video depicting a house-help mixing urine into food she was preparing.

This is why I do not trust any 3rd world staffed fast food joints, restaurants or delivery services in Canada any longer.

Trudeau and his corporate welfare pals like Tim Horton’s in their greed are unwittingly ruining the food services sector of the economy.
