“The Ocean Is Queer”

For years, radical gender ideology appeared unstoppable. The media framed transgender identity as the next frontier of liberation. Pride Month drew enthusiastic endorsements from nearly every university, corporation, and school district. Dissenters were often marginalized, and the prevailing narrative allowed little room for debate.

No longer. Since the start of the second Trump administration, the movement has begun to retreat. The Supreme Court recently upheld a Tennessee law banning medical transition procedures for minors. Many corporations have withdrawn support for this year’s Pride events. An ideology that once seemed culturally dominant has lost significant ground in public opinion.

Goodbye Fancy Bar, Hello At-Home Pizza Party: Young Americans Cut Back

Young Americans’ shopping spree is over.

In-store and online purchases for 18- to 24-year-olds fell 13% year-over-year between January and April, according to market research firm Circana. Spending by older groups is still on the rise but has slowed.

A combination of economic challenges is driving the decline. Young grads are having a much tougher time finding jobs. Student-loan payments are restarting for millions of borrowers. Over roughly the past year, credit-card delinquency rates have risen to their highest points since before the pandemic, and are highest for those 18 to 29, according to the New York Federal Reserve.

Tsk. Kids today.  There’s always work in the coal mines for anyone that wants.

Colbert Dances After CNN Article Casts Doubt On Success Of Iran Strikes

On Tuesday, CNN published an article of debatable accuracy alleging that Saturday’s B-2 strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities were not as successful as President Trump and other administration officials have claimed. However, CBS’s Stephen Colbert wasn’t interested in the nuances of underground nuclear facility bomb damage assessment on The Late Show because if he was, he would not have been able to do his MC Hammer dance in response.

Sexual orientation question to appear on census for first time in 2026

Canadian residents will be asked about their sexual orientation in next year’s national census, CBC News has learned.

While Statistics Canada has asked about sexual orientation in past surveys, next year will mark the first time the question will appear on the long-form census questionnaire that will go out to 25 per cent of Canadian residents in May 2026.

The questions will not be included in the short-form census that goes out to 75 per cent of Canadian residents.

I am not seeing much difference between Carney’s Canada and Justin’s version.

Migrant can stay in UK because he does not want to shave

An asylum seeker from Tajikistan has been allowed to stay in the UK because he would have had to shave his beard off if he was deported.

The unnamed man won an appeal after arguing that he could be tortured and have his facial hair forcibly removed if he was sent back home.

The Home Office tried to deport him back to the Central Asian state, but an asylum court has now ruled that he may be entitled to international protection in the UK because of his beard.

This meat was made in a lab but from Cowsills or Cow Cells?

Who’s going to know the difference?

This burger was made in a lab from cow cells… Should it really be served in restaurants?

Inside an anonymous building in Oxford, Riley Jackson is frying a steak. The perfectly red fillet cut sizzles in the pan, its juices releasing a meaty aroma. But this is no ordinary steak. It was grown in the lab next door.

What’s strangest of all is just how real it looks. The texture, when cut, is indistinguishable from the real thing.

“That’s our goal,” says Ms Jackson of Ivy Farm Technologies, the food tech start-up that created it. “We want it to be as close to a normal steak as possible.”

Andrew Tate and Bonnie Blue: monsters of online culture

You might be thinking, given the current geopolitical tensions, that the greatest threat to humanity is Israel, Iran and the US dropping bombs on one another. I regret to inform you that another humanity-destroying event occurred recently: the Bonnie Blue / Andrew Tate debate on the Disruptors podcast, which dropped on Friday. By Monday evening, it had racked up over two million views on YouTube. Okay, it won’t actually kill anyone to watch it, but it might just kill your faith in your fellow man.

School councillor objected to one of those stupid land acknowledgements and got suspended by the usual Little Hitlers

Terry Newman: She objected to land acknowledgments. Now she’s paying the price for her heresy

An elected Ontario school board councillor has been suspended by her board for expressing an opinion about land acknowledgements. It was not explained to her the exact offence she had committed, or who complained, only that the opinion she expressed apparently caused harm.

Catherine Kronas was first elected to Ancaster High Secondary School as chair in 2023 and then re-elected as a council member in 2024.

BUNKER BUSTED: David Frum Claims ‘Trump Always Chickens Out’ Hours Before Iran Strike

Lunatic

Talk about getting Jim Cramered. The Atlantic’s pompous loudmouth of a staff writer David Frum committed an unforced error by publicly showcasing how he literally knows nothing about the Trump Doctrine on military strategy or foreign policy.

Frum attempted to make it seem like Iran had President Trump’s number in a June 21 screed published at 9:00 am ET, “The mullahs of Iran join the bet that Trump always chickens out.”
