CBC going to court to fight disclosure order for Gem subscriber numbers
OTTAWA — CBC/Radio-Canada is going to court to defend its refusal to disclose subscriber numbers for its Gem streaming service.
A spokesperson says the public broadcaster will make its case in Federal Court, after the information commissioner ordered CBC to make available the number of paid subscribers to Gem.

A Florida student was branded ‘most likely to become a dictator’ by his teacher and classmates after sharing his conservative views at school.
The teen, who attends Gainsville High School, was handed the certificate by his history teacher Lauren Watts in May 2023, according the boy’s mother, Crystal Marull.
Marull shared her story before the State Board of Education last week as she called out the local school district in Alachua for allegedly discriminating against conservatives.

The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) is warning that while the U.S. suspension on new visas for foreign truck drivers won’t have much, if any, impact on Canadian drivers, it should be seen as a warning to industry to clean up its act.

The vast majority (89 to 96 percent) of youth in grades 6 to 10 exceed the recommended daily screen time of two hours, according to a report published by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) on July 23, which was first reported by Blacklock’s Reporter.
