Trump claims he’s the ‘president of peace’ — so why is he bombing so many overseas hotspots?

U.S. President Donald Trump earned plaudits from war-weary Americans when he promised during his first campaign to stop dragging the country into conflicts overseas he framed as a waste of money and personnel.
But his latest foray into hotspots on other continents, including launching strikes in Africa on Christmas Day, has some supporters questioning whether he really meant it when he said he’s “not going to start wars.”
In his second inaugural address in January, Trump said his presidency’s success would be measured “not only by the battles we win but also by the wars that we end — and perhaps most importantly, the wars we never get into.”
If he didn’t the CBC would be blaming Trump for humanitarian inaction.

WORST OF 2025: The Celebrity Freak-Out Award

It was a challenging task, but an esteemed panel of NewsBusters editors, led by MRC President David Bozell and MRC’s Vice President for Research and Publications Brent Baker, boiled down all the biased outbursts from lefty hack hosts, anchors, reporters and pundits in 2025 and on December 17 announced The Media Research Center Award for Worst Quote of the Year.
Of course, every year, there is way too much bias for just one category. So we broke down the Worst of 2025 into five additional categories (The Craziest Analysis Award; The Trashing Trump Award; The Damn Those Conservatives Award; The ICE Breakers Award for Hating Trump’s Deportation Policy; and the Celebrity Freak-Outs Award).
AI Effect on Voting Intentions Three Times Greater in Canada Than in US: Study

Conversations between humans and AI chatbots can significantly influence voters’ decisions, with the impact in Canada potentially three times greater than in the United States, according to a study published in the journal Nature on Dec. 4.
The study, conducted by researchers from MIT and other universities in Canada, Poland, and the United States, analyzed how conversations with AI chatbots could persuade people to change their voting intentions more effectively than traditional political advertisements.
Brown shooting suspect: gruelling academic climate may have taken mental toll, say ex-classmates

As investigators in Massachusetts work to piece together a motive for the murders of two Brown University students and an MIT physics professor, former classmates of the suspected gunman and one of the victims have been asking if the roots of the tragedy lie in their shared experience at a top university in Portugal.
The suspected gunman, Cláudio Valente, and one of those killed, Nuno FG Loureiro, studied at the prestigious and notoriously challenging University of Lisbon engineering and technology school, known locally as Técnico, both graduating in 2000.

We’d posed a simple question last year: How seriously does the Toronto Police Service actually take sexual harassment?
Not very, seems to be the answer.

The Department of Justice has said that there are over one million files related to Epstein that they are actively working to make public in the coming weeks.
The DOJ said on Christmas Eve: ‘The US Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the FBI have informed the Department of Justice that they have uncovered over a million more documents potentially related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.
