Explosive thrown through window at Minnesota Mosque

 

…The explosion was reported to the police around 5 a.m., and they found “smoke and some damage” upon arriving. Mike Hartley, the deputy police chief in Bloomington, said there was no structural damage to the building, but he declined to elaborate on any damage inside.

…No injuries were reported. The building sustained damage to its front, and photographs from the scene showed a large shattered window, singed blinds and charring around the outside.

…In a news conference, Mohamed Omar, the executive director of the mosque, said the explosion had occurred “in the direction of the imam’s room.”

Mosques in Israel Shut Down to Encourage Muslims to Throng Temple Mount

Friday prayers normally held at hundreds of mosques in Arab towns in Israel were canceled in dozens of locations following pressure from local Muslim leaders to encourage thousands to throng the Temple Mount.

For five consecutive days, Muslim rioters have engaged in violent clashes targeting Israeli security forces in Jerusalem’s Old City near a main entrance to the Temple Mount.

Now an alliance of secularists and Islamists are trying to turn the church back to Islamic worship.

Arrest Warrant Issued in Montreal for Hate-Preaching Imam

A Quebec judge has issued a warrant for the arrest of Palestinian-Jordanian Imam Sheikh Muhammad ibn Musa Al Nasr following a B’nai Brith complaint. During a sermon, Al Nasr called Jews “the worst of mankind” and expressed his hope that Muslims would slaughter them on Judgment Day.

Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach did the official honor of cutting a ceremonial ribbon for the construction project, which was conceived a decade ago.

“It’s important to Overland Park because these are great friends,” Gerlach says. “They’ve worked well with the city, are great community builders, and it makes us a stronger community building this mosque here.”

Germany opens its first liberal mosque in Berlin

Seyran Ates’ vision of a liberal mosque where all Muslims can pray together — women and men, Sunni and Shiite, straight and gay — turned into reality Friday as dozens of people came together in Berlin to inaugurate a new house of prayer.

Ates, a well-known women’s right activist and lawyer, preached in front of the crowd which filled the mosque. A female imam from the United States, Ani Zonneveld, called for prayer as the faithful kneeled behind her in rows, all turned in the direction of Mecca.
