PHILADELPHIA – The suspect in the mass shooting that took place on Monday night in Southwest Philadelphia has been identified as Kimbrady Carriker.
Carriker, a 40-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was apprehended by the police after carrying out a shooting spree in the Kingsessing neighborhood, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and the injury of two children.
Five people were killed and two children — ages 2 and 13 — were injured Monday night in a mass shooting in the Kingsessing section of Southwest Philadelphia. A suspect is in custody, police said.
Police responded shortly before 8:30 p.m. to gunfire in the area of South 56th Street and Chester Avenue, and about 10 minutes later, with police following the suspect as gunfire continued to ring out, a 40-year-old man was confronted several blocks away in an alleyway on the 1600 block of South Frazier Street, Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said at a news conference at the scene.
At least two people were killed and more than two dozen others were injured in a mass shooting that took place during a block party early Sunday morning in Baltimore.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The suspect in a mass shooting that killed five people at a Colorado Springs LGBTQ+ nightclub in 2022 has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to murder and other charges in the attack.
The sentencing of Anderson Lee Aldrich comes just seven months after the shooting and spares victims’ families and survivors a long and potentially painful trial.
Aldrich declined to address the court prior to sentencing.
Aldrich was charged with more than 300 state counts, including murder and hate crimes. That once again proved true today as the media obsessively focused on exactly what type of gun was used, what sort of car, and interviews with witnesses about the shock and horror they felt while telling us nothing about the perp.
